Do you sit in front of your XBox imagining playing it? What do you plug it into?
Computers dont use monitors either? Are you so smart that you are stupid?
You are trying to compare yourself going to a computer pawn shop and scraping up parts and doing manual labor to keep costs down to someone buying an already built Gaming Console. Thats not a fair comparison. An already built gaming PC bought retail vs an already built gaming console = PC more expensive by $1000's
Please find me a Built PC, bought from a manufacture, thats ready for games like Crysis and Bioshock for the cost that i can get a Xbox360 $249.99

How many goddamn times do I have to repeat myself.
If you want HD graphics inline with any modern computer+monitor, you're looking at spending $1000+ on a decent HDTV. So let's say you're now up to $1300 base price for an Xbox360 and a TV with no games or anything else.
Now lets not forget that roughly 80-85% of households in America have a computer of some sort; after all, they love to argue on car forums about stuff they don't research. The cheapest PC I could find that comes with a display is a $379 Walmart special of some random brand. So you have to add THAT to the price too or else you won't be able to post uninformed opinions on car forums, bringing yourself to a grand total of $1679.
Now I just went to iBUYPOWER: Custom Build Gaming Computers Desktop PCs, Notebooks and built a FULL rig with an AMD Athlon X2 5000+, Geforce 9600GT, 2GB RAM, Windows Vista AND a 20.1" widescreen monitor for the price of $818. Now you could bump that up by $125 and move up to a Geforce 9800GTX which will run anything for the next 2 years guaranteed. Oh it also comes with 3 free games btw.
And both of those spec PC's will run both Crysis and BioShock.
So its a tad under $950 for a fully fledged PC capable of any modern gaming for the next 2 years with 3 free games...or an Xbox360 with no games, an HDTV and a cheap laptop for just a tad over $1650. What a bargain console gamers!
really? $1000 for a decent HDTV? You obviously dont research. My Samsung 23" LCD was $599 and a 360 is $250 and i didnt have to custom build shit. If you have to go to rinky-dink websites to BUILD a computer then you are proven nothing. Fuck i could go to a pawn shop and get a 360 for $100 and a damn game for $10.
Say if we both walked into...say Best Buy, same store. I buy a 360 with games and you buy a computer with games..... who's gonna come out cheaper? Please answer that....
Stop going through the black market on shit and stick to the main market. I already know about it.
But hey... on the other note.. that is a nice build for the price.... how much is the 9800GTx by itsself?

like a week ago on woot there was a pc for sale with a quad core 2.2ghz processor, 3gb of ram, an ok video card for 500 bucks. that + sell the video card and replace it with an nvidia 9 series should ultimately set you back another 100 or so

Oh and for the $600 of that 23" monitor you bought, you could have gotten a Dell 24" for $450 like the one I'm using right now. It sounds like you are the one who doesn't research.
So ultimately you paid way more for an Xbox, a computer and a monitor when you could have just gotten a top of the line computer and not had to worry about upgrading for several years. You just proved my point.
If you haven't noticed there's a continuing trend in the console market towards initial higher prices when a system is released. All these companies rely on proprietary technology which means that prices will continue to rise as the tech is developed specifically for those devices.
What you'll also notice is the trend on PC hardware prices has hit a HUGE downturn in the past decade. You can build or buy a brand new PC for next to nothing with great hardware. 10 years ago you'd have to pay $2000 for a top of the line system...today you pay maybe $1000.
I can see console surpassing the price of a brand new PC in the next few years, and I can see all you console sheep following the trend because big companies like Microsoft will be making mad money off of those who are too lazy to do things themselves. Sony may have lost $3 billion on the PS3, but that is not going to remain the companies trend. They're not in it to satisfy the gamer, they're in the business to make money, and eventually they will come to cash in.
