and be thankfull for them if it were not for idiots you would be out of a job!
the less people know about things the more jobs for specialits there are
Oh I have a job with or without the morons. I have enough on my hands trying to keep our network up, build new servers and infrastructure, monitor security and firewall logs, and building and rebuilding PC's.
Oh and not to mention administer the goddamn PBX, because apparently that's IT's job now too.

IT as a whole is expected to take over the "specialties" you refer to in our society these days without compensation to match that extra knowledge and ability.
Why the fuck should I touch someones home computer because they don't know shit and decided to drop by the office asking me to help?? Yet its expected of me and numerous other IT staffers around the country.
Apparently anything with a microprocessor in it these days is expected to be supported by us, who were hired on as PC SUPPORT, not fucking cellphone support.

sounds more like you need to get a new place to work or stick by the contract they hired you on for.
I know that the IT part of many companies would not be needed if everyone was computer savvy.
is it annoying yes but not so much that you have changed jobs yet and I bet you get paid a lot more money then the blue collar guys so be glad for having an understanding of computers
I see your words but you have no evidence to back it up.
Are you starting a console religion?
Evidence? Are we going in front of a fuckin judge or something? Thats just my opinion. My giving situation, I bought two things in the same year and one requires money to be spent on upgrades to play 2008 games and the other doesnt. Simple as that. I dont feel the need to dig into secret files to try to prove shit to a biased person like yourself.
People buy a console because its easier to maintain(because they want to). You feel the need to build a gaming machine(Because you want to).
People buy cars and do extended warranties and pay others to fix their car for em. You wanna go build a fuckin car from scratch too? Most people simply dont know how to build a PC and you wanna call them idiots. Can I call you an idiot for not building your Neon from scratch? And wtf are u comparing cars and computers anyways?

You'd be suprised at wages up here in VT. I get paid quite a bit less than smoger.
I could move and make a lot more money, but I also don't have a degree, I came straight out of the military doing this stuff.

If you bothered to read more than your own posts for once you'd see where Caric brought up comparing building PC's to cars.
And by the way genius, there's a hell of a big difference between building a PC and building a car, and we're not talking about cost. I was comparing the difficulty of building up a car vs. building a PC...and building up a car is still harder!
If I can build up a car with no prior knowledge and 6 months of research, then anybody can build a PC with no more than a days worth of research. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put together parts that only fit in one place - square obviously doesn't go in circle hole! The toughest part would be formatting and installing the OS...oh and guess what, technology these days does it all for you!!
Wow, that's tough. If anybody can't do that with a little bit of reading, hell yes they're an idiot.

Nah.. thats only an opinion. What may seem simple to you may not be simple to others. There is some shit I can do that i know you cant do, and its simple... but i cant call you an idiot. Well i can but it doesnt makes sense.

If half the people here can wire up, install and program the electronic piggybacks, engine management computers and every other electronic box they do, they can certainly learn how to build a PC, and in less time then it takes to program an EMS or SCT maps, or even a DTEC for that matter.
Don't act like the majority of people here are idiots who can't distinguish between a CD-ROM drive and a floppy drive. If they want to learn, they can and will, there's more instruction on how to build PC's on the net then there is installing turbo kits or tuning cars.
