the set ups out there in the living rooms that people keep talking about. many of us want to see and try in person or at least see in pictures these pc's running games out in the living room on the tv while you are chilling on the sofa and maybe some pics or video of the multiplayer games that you and your friends do together on one system.
i don't play mine on the tv. my 42" tv has a lower resolution than my 22" monitor.. don't see why i'd want it on there. when im playing an RTS, i want to feel like im in control and close to the action, not 15 feet away..
i used to hook it up to the tv to watch movies and porn, but i stopped that because my 360 streams everything through my network now.
i dont know why its so amazing to you that you can hook up a pc to a television.. its not like thats anything new. and if you dont like keyboard/mouse you can play with any ps2 controller, xbox/xbox360 controller, wii remote, sixxaxis, or whatever you want. they all work fine with pc.

i am curious about this as well. i mean honestly, i like having my computer in one room and the home theater in another. seriously........how the fuck can you fwap it on the couch? at least in my computer room i can close the door.
i know they make some products that allow you to run the computer in one room to a TV in another room, right? sling box? ya?

not slingbox, thats the opposite. that sends your tv to a computer
you're thinking of a "media center extender", of which the cheapest one i know of is the xbox360.
..but jim.. look into the pc program called Orb.. it's a free utility that lets you access your media through a web browser on just about anything. it works on the Wii so I'm assuming it'll work on the ps3 also.

but i can already access my pics, vids and music through the PS3 with no problems.
my point is, as versitile as the PC might be with games, TV, etc. having an actual home theater allows you to do more, although it might cost more too. i can watch TV, DVDs, BluRay, listen to music from either the PC or CD or DVD, play the PS3 or Wii, etc............all on a 5.1 surround system that beats any set of computer speakers out there (minus the ones that cost thousands of bucks, there is always something better) and a 42" HD screen.
who the fuck wants to huddle around a 22" screen?
btw - SRT4ieekkewhateverthefuck...........nice setup man. those speakers are badass. i have a Logitech 5.1 surround system on my PC too, although not as nice as those.

you can do all that with a pc too..
you can integrate your pc to your HT setup as easily as any other dvd player, game console, etc.
video in via hdmi or vga, and you can hook up the sound card to your typical receiver if you choose..

I'm using an old laptop as my htpc and it works great. I only have a 1080i tv but the PC upscales the picture and it looks really nice, fooling some people to think it's even HD.
I store all my burned DVDs as ISOs now and it works so much better than flipping thru DVDs in a CD case.
I'm still in my quest to find a free program like AnyDVD so I can... ehhhh make back up copies of my rented DVDs incase they get scratched while in my possession.
That's a big cube. I thought about getting one of those but I can't get myself to throw away my Thermaltake XaserV case since I spent $80 on it. It's effing huge

$80?? Wow, I spent $450 on my custom Lian Li probably 7 years ago...I've never had to change, I love this case.
Oh and I use the stock Intel HSF because I don't OC. It runs perfectly cool the way it is. When I was running an A64, I had a Thermalright XP-90 with Panaflo H1A and that was complete overkill.
