I did the update and I'm just fine. A few people did have their systems brick and that sucks. Oh well not like any other next gen system hasn't have this happen. It really sucks hard to have your system brick due to an update.
All next gen system have had their fair share of bricks. It makes me wonder if the companies know that a particular update may cause some systems to brick and they just figure oh it will be a few just release it.
Then again consoles don't get virus's and hacked either there is good and bad with all things.
PC's don't get viruses and hacked if you don't goto retarded websites and have any common sense at all. The chances of your home PC getting hacked into manually are less than .001%, it's the dumbasses who download malware that become these stupid statistics that everyone refers to all the time.

not the wii. there were a handful of "semi bricked" Wii's near launch, but nothing widespread. the next closest thing was the "dirty disc drive" issue that popped up when brawl came out,.. again it was short lived and not very common.

There are still attacks and ways you can get them by just surfing...you don't always have to go to bullshit websites. Not to mention the bloatware these days.
Either way, I agree PC gaming is more fun. But console gaming is more reliable.

1. most people these days are behind a broadband router, and most broadband routers include firewalls and NAT that are turned on by default
2. google warns users away from known attack sites when browsing through search results
3. Firefox 3 warns away from known attack sites by default
the typical home pc is pretty darn safe nowadays..
