The sad part is that at least Smoger does not seem to get that we like different types of things then he does. If I was into the same types of games and gaming I would probably only game on a PC.
My brother uses his every year, and claims it cost like 2g lol
does he game on it? I know he is the type to just buy the more top end stuff just because he figures he is gurenteed to be able to do anythign he would every want with the stuff.
I can't see where my math is flawed at. I have a pc that does everything I need it too, but clearly can't play games. I was in the market something to play games on. I could have spent 700 dollars on a pc that does what this one does, but can play games and do 1,000 other things I don't need. Or I could have spent 350 bucks on a xbox. But apparently 700 is less when your a hard core gamer.
ok im gonna break it down for you one more time.

like his spear fishing
Kee word there was "claims" he didn't spend that on it. And he uses it less than i do. The did get a laptop for christmas this year. Theyll write that off too. But, I think his wife needs that for work.
He plays GH2 on PS2 and that's about it. I think he's going to get a PS3 soon for the blue ray player.

see man you could save $440 thats like $110 a year, granted you can never play on your TV or with friends, but hey for that $110 a year you save who needs being able to hang out with friends right

where do you get that you can't play it on your tv? you know that all video cards have at least component out and all HDTV's have VGA in, right?
..and all windows pc's work with xbox360 controllers(and wiimotes, and 6axis, and dualshock 2 and 3),.. if you'd really want to downgrade your controls.
everytime i have friends over we have to play wii because there really isnt a whole lot of in-room multiplayer games on 360.. even games like burnout are only online now..
notice though that he is a "hardcore gammer" which means he either has a very very well paying job and can afford to buy a bunch of games and systems and never play them or spends pretty much all his time playing games and posting on the internet instead of having real interaction with other humans in real life or has he would say IRL
i do ok for myself, but i'm also a cheapass.. i buy games on big sales and play mostly pc games because they are easy to get new for literally nearly HALF the price of the 360 versions(and the controls dont suck on the pc versions..)
as for my schedule, if you're really that concerned about it.. i tend to work about 10-11 hours a day, go home, run a few miles, and then for the 2 or 3 hours until i go to sleep, i might throw on a game, or i might watch tv. on the weekends i tend to be out with my friends so i do almost no gaming at all

Umm..... I know Im exhausted..... but why is a PC added into the cost of the Xbox stuff. Did I miss something here? And why is Xbox Live always added in? You dont HAVE to have it to enjoy the majority of games available. I know I surely didnt need it for Mass Effect or GTA4.

Let me break it down for you, I can go to best buy right now and buy a xbox and come home and play games for 350 bucks. Or I could go to best buy and buy a 800 dollar pc (assuming I have a monitor key board and mouse) come home and play games. Which one is cheaper to play games on.
oh but you need this and that etc. etc. No I don't if I want to PLAY GAMES in will cost me 350 bucks and I'm ready to go. Anything else is not NEEDED.

well then I think on your cost list you should add the price of a wii to the PC to be fare right.
and since you are always so busy then yeah you do waste a ton of money and are probably not the best source to go to for gaming since you admit you hardly game.

he forgot to add the cost of the WII in since you can not do multiplayer on the PC

do you ever think that some of us can not really use the keyboard mouse set up. I have said time and again I have tried many differnt set ups and keyboard and gaming specific keyboard but the key and mouse is just not a posibility for me personaly. and honestly I like how nice and simple a controller is.
I do not have to sit back and wonder if I have just the right macro set up for a certian game or anything. And all the people I know fell that a keyboard and mouse is more un-natural and also a hell of a lot harder to use when you relaxing on the sofa.
as for the TV you say it can be done but it is very rare that you ever really see or hear people talk about doing it. I do not think there is anyone yet that has posted in all these threads that relaxes in there living room playing on the TV except for console guys.
