O and hey post up the stats of your PC they might be able to help you on what all you need up graded.
What would I need to run games on my pc?
I have a best buy specail with a
1.8 ghz processore (I'm sure this needs to be up graded, and I'll probably need a new mother board to get anything good in there)
I have 3xx MB or ram pretty sure I need a couple gb there.
I have a 40 gb hard drive so that should be ok
not sure on the video card, but I would imagine it is very low end.

I really wasn't sure if rock band was on the pc or not. I know GH3 is, because I have a copy of it. I'm thinking about seeing if they'll let me play it at work. lol Although it says it wants a dual core processor which I don't have.
you should have just gotten frets on fire. it's free.. although it can be hard to find what you want to play when you have literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of songs for it(also all free)

The GH3 I got was free also, and it came with a guitar. My little brother bought it thinking it was for PS2. lol he was going to through it away, he gave it to me instead.
What I don't get, is everyone make's it sound like pc gaming is cheaper that consoles. But, when I went to best buy and said I need the cheapest pos pc you have, that's what I got. For about the same price I could have bought a 360 and played games on it, but that pc is completly useless for gaming.

it is.

and the xbox is completely useless for dvd burning, photo editing, web browsing, word processing, and about 1,000,000 other things than that basic pc can do. furthermore.. if you bought a pc *recently* with those specs.. you were just ripped off. sorry.

But, I didn't buy my xbox to do any of that stuff.
I'd be suprised if you could even buy 40GB 3.5" hard drives anymore, maybe in Staples out of the clearance bin, but most places don't stock small cap drives anymore, let alone computer retailers.

The point is you bought both an xbox and a mediocre PC when you could have just gotten a good PC for the same price.

I got you. That makes sense, if I had spent 700 bucks on a pc, instead of 350 on a xbox and 350 on a cheap pc I'd have save alot of money.
The you say, "you need a 1200 dollar HDTV". And I say even if I had a PC I'd still want a HDTV. And you say " you pay 4 dollars/month for xbox-live" And I say we all pay 50 dollars a month for high speed internet. And you say "pc games are cheaper" and I say I can trade in, and/or buy used games. Which saves me even more.
Then the PS3 guy jumps in with now you both have to buy a PS3 for blu-ray. and the PC guy now needs a 1200 dollar HDTV on top of that.
Honestly were all fighting a loosing battle, none of it is cheap. My console is easy to use and does everything I want in a game system. I have over 12 days in the multiplayer on COD4 alone, I think I;ll get my money's worth out of my system.
Although I do want one of those PS3 blue ray DVD players, I here they come with a free game system too.
