is it true that a lot of the new games require you to have vista and will not run on XP and more and more will be that way since XP is no longer around?

No one believed when I pushed the idea of 300whp on the stock turbo now look.when I said the stock motor could handle 400whp now look.when I stood by the idea that a piggy back could get you 400whp let alone 500whp now look.that you could run anything above a dry 35 shot on the motor, and then they went all the way to pushing 75.
ok thanks man. I do not know a lot anymore about pc gaming but with all the threads anymore that keep coming up figured I might look into it since it seems to be rather popular at least with some of the more vocal members on here.
I am thinking about trying to get my pc up to where it could play some of the newer games I know I will need a new video card because the one I have now does not have HDMI output on it and I want to play it on my big screen.
I will try and post up my one pc's specs and if I can a friends so that we can see if we can play the newer PC games on our HDTV for the $100-$200 range that so many say is all you have to spend to make your current PC a gaming PC that will beat out the console systems. Because I know that if they can for that little money then we might just jump over to PC, then again I think so far eveyrone that does PC gaming seems to also have at least 1 if not 2 of the newer gen console games which seems odd if the PC set ups are so much better then they would be paying money to down grade but I guess we will see as this all goes on.

That is all the info I could find about my PC hope that is enough info to go on.

I think that is what my buddy has actually he might be a little less power then that and with XP Home it was the basic E-Machine that Best Buy offered like 2 years ago.
Neither of those PCs really have a great processor for gaming. Unfortunately, upgrading a processor (those) requires a new motherboard, which will likely require new RAM. Unless the Sempron processor is an AM2 socket, then in that case it could be swapped out fairly easily, a little more ram and a video card and your buddy might be in luck - but that is @ a price of about ~$300, give or take.
You, on the other hand, don't really have any place to go....UNLESS your P4 is a LGA775, which in that case you could swap out a Core 2 duo chip and be golden. But you have to make sure it is compatible w/ your motherboard...
Go here CPUID download that, and run it on both computers. Easiest way to find out which socket is being used, then we can offer advice from there.
