I'm probably only going to hit on the bigger news, and very briefly.. ask if you want more info.

Microsoft

• New dashboard design coming with 8 user chat "party"(system-wide, in dash, games, AND movies), Mii rip off avatars
• Fable 2 : October 2008
• GoW 2: November 7th, 2008
• $50 off 20gb model - FIRE SALE
• 60gb model priced @ $349.99
• Fallout 3: DLC exclusive to 360/PC versions
• Portal Sequel confirmed for XBLA (not pc??? Valve i will burn down your HQ if you do this..)
• Resident Evil 5 online co-op
• new Galaga from the makers of Pac Man CE

• Iwata: "even nintendo employees couldnt have predicted that we'd be selling millions of bathroom scales around the world" (laughter)
• Iwata: people become bored with new technology. this happens faster when others try to copy it.
• Unveiling Animal Crossing Wii .. title is "Animal Crossing City Folk" - release by years end
• WiiSpeak!! voice chat for wii via a "community microphone" (it picks up everyone in the room)
• Reggie: Expected DS sales: "nearly 100m by the end of next fiscal year" - driven by key software.. not hardware
• Reggie: "no console ever has sold as much software in it's first 19 months" (in regards to Wii)
• Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars coming to DS this winter

Although you gotta admit, it's not gonna sell very well on the 360. JRPG's just aren't that popular on the X360.

i'm not sure... there hasn't been anything quite like a Final Fantasy yet.

all i can speak for is me.. this is one more item OFF my list of reasons to get a ps3. that list seems to be shrinking day by day

Blue Dragon is a good RPG that pretty much nobody bought, from the 10 people I know personally that own Xbox's I know for a fact only 1 would actually buy an RPG game. The rest of them like FPS's, 3rd person shooter's, and other games that don't need a storyline.

I hope that the Mii ripoff and the new dashboard look isn't mandatory. My brother in-law is gonna shit a house if he can't still use the blade style dashboard.

Gran Turismo and Metal Gear seems to be the only titles keeping PS3 on life support.

I've heard many people who beat MGS4 said that without the long cutscenes, they could finish the game in 3 - 4 hours.


As much as I want to see sony go broke and be in the soup line, it wouldn't be a good thing since no competition = bad.

Pffft... It's Micro$oft that's trying to monopolize everything. Why wish Sony go under?

And there are great 1st & 2nd party titles from Sony that haven't been announced yet. God of War 3, SOCOM (not Confrontation), sequel to ICO, Killzone, Littlebigplanet, Resistance 2, Infamous, The Agency, Twisted Metal, White Knight Chronicles....

I could say the same to many of the games on the 360. I guess it's just everyone's personal preference.
Bioshock was the first and only game that I wanted for the 360, so I went out and bought a 360 and Bioshock. I didn't buy any other game because nothing else appealed to me from the 360 library. So I ended up selling the 360, kept the game though.
