Default New PC setup

i upgraded my old pc a lil bit i want some computer people to chime in and tell me what they think for what i paid i think i cleaned house

processor-core 2 duo e4600 @2.4ghz
ram-4gb ddr2 ram 6400 @800mhz
graphics-visiontek hd3650 overclocked pci-e 1gb
500gb seagate barracuda hdd

i know its not a powerhouse pc but i just added the mobo+processor for 100 bucks and got the ram for 60....its like ocx ram has gold heatsinks i have no idea if its good i just know i wanted 4gbs and i got it

i had one of the visiontek boards before and had 0 issues they run great and they are pretty much exactly the same as the radeon board of the same type and i paid 0 for the visiontek VisionTek Radeon HD 3650 Overclocked - graphics adapter - Radeon HD 3650 - 1 GB Specs. I wouldn't worry too much about visiontek, but I would however monitor the temps on that board over a couple of weeks. All boards these days are reference, but when the company OC's it from the factory all hell can break loose if you don't have good airflow.

If you're not worried about ultra high res, high settings gaming, I would lower the clock speeds a tad.

its the overclockable 3650 radeon i have so many dam fans in my case i could do it but i actually havent it runs every game i have on max and i played the crysis demo on pretty dam high settings so im overall satisfied ive been reading up on the bsel mod for my processor and i have found alot of people that are running it with my exact mobo+proc combo with great results apprently the core2duos handle overclocking very well....ive found alot of people that have this exact thing set at 3.0ghz stable....they run stress tests and pass with no issues...so i might do this tomm

The only reason I say it is because RMAing to the manufacturer can be a supreme pain in the fucking ass. Thank god the one time it FUBAR'D i was able to RMA to newegg...

i bought a visiontek before to run doom 3 at max....i loved that game and that graphics card lasted 2yrs....so i didnt even blink buying a new one.....has anyone on here done the bsel mod yet??? my dam hands are too big to do it i might get a precision soldering iron and try with that

I haven't OC'ed for probably 6 years now, there's really no reason to these days unless you like watching benchmarking software run loops.

WOW! I posted in your thread about just gettng a new fan, but I would strongly suggest you upgrade to at least a dual core.
