Has anyone played it? I get the impression that theres not a ton of JRPG fans here...
anyway.. im about 2.5hrs into it and my impressions so far as very good. Good controls.. combat seems like it'll get pretty deep but not overly complicated, graphics are great, load times are very short, the cutscenes look good and voiceovers are adequate .. typical japanese to english dub quality. all this for only 40 bucks.
If you did play it, no spoilers please
/here comes the sony defense force cackling about multidisc games
I've been really curious about this game. To this point, I haven't known anyone who's played it. Keep us posted on how you're liking it. If it's worth it, I may pick it up.
I did get to play a little bit of Lost Odyssey in a game store, and that looks very promising.

I played the game until the very end, and then stopped. It was more of a labour to play it for that long. I didn't really enjoy it that much. I just had a lot of time to kill. I thought that the hero's voice got really annoying, not to mention Marumaro's , and that each character was pretty bland.
Lost Odyssey is amazing though. I havn't really had time to play it, but what I've played so far was really enjoyable and made me want more.

Downloaded the demo, Im looking for a new rpg to crack out on. Is it turn based fighting? cause then no dice. I saw that Lost Odeysee is the #1 selling 360 game right now. I was thinking about it, but I really really hate turn based games
back with an update on this. put the game down for a while because a string of great games came out, but I picked it up again last week, and got over the lull in the first disc, and wow.. the game just changed completely!
the last 3-4 hrs of the first disc are fantastic, and the ENTIRE second disc was great.. i didnt want to put it down. in fact i played through the entire second disc in about 3 sittings. i didnt even touch the third disc yet.. i wanted to save it so when i have serious time to sit and play(maybe not till the weekend), i'll be thrown in with a BANG.
definitely definitely definitely recommend this one.
as an update to the price.. you can pick this up for $20 now at a bunch of places(Toys R Us for sure).
oh, and if you dont want to devote yourself to the whole thing,.. they follow the George Lucas template for storyline.. disc 1 wraps things up fairly nicely so you could play till then, call it a day, and feel perfectly satisfied with your $20 purchase(it's 15-16hrs of gameplay.. and the last few alone are worth the price).
..but i think once you get that far you won't want to stop

started disc 3 on friday night. i'm up to the final dungeon, but need to grind a bit to make it through. i think i'll be powerful enough after about 10 more hours of gameplay.
third disc continues improving the story and opens up a SHIT TON of side quests and new areas to discover. im sure i could easily double my play time at this point if i was trying to finish it all
$20 game scares me, but I love turn based RPG's. I dont like real time RPGs
why do $20 games scare you? is this elementary school where the amount of money you spend on something correlates to how "cool" said item is?
if it makes you feel better, travel back a year in time and buy it for $60 ....., or heck,.. i'll save you the trouble and you can buy my copy for $60.

Chill out fool, I used to buy all my PSX games for $20 when they hit the greatest hits, back when that meant something.
But by todays standards it seems that a game that is worth anything retains its price while Furry Furry Rabbit is $9.99 the 2nd week of it's launch. Do you understand what i'm saying? It took Halo 2 like 2 years to drop $10
