So I've been having random problems with my pc resetting itself recently. I think it may be software related so I get a registry cleaner/repairer. Says I have 1100+ errors so it fixes them and I restart. Pc works fine for about 45 mins until it resets itself again.....and again....And again, infinitely. So I try to do a repair with windows xp.... But it won't read the damn disc. I get a black screen with blinking cursor only. Then it tries to boot up xp from the hard drive. (my friends genuine xp disc)
I figured out how to see the blue screen error and it says: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x0000001C, 0x00000001, 0x0804FB03C)
in safe mode it still resets and in debugging mode I can get to the desktop but it freezes before anything loads...
yah clean hd format and fresh os will fix ANY problem thats why i have my hdd in 2 pieces one big part for downloads and the c drive is JUST os thats all so if something messes up i can format c reinstall windows and all my files stay safe
The IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000A means you have a driver that is trying to use an incorrect memory address. Unload all of your drivers one by one in safe mode until you fix the problem, then find an updated (or older if already up to date) driver to replace it.

Well my Dual layer DVD drive is SATA and won't show up in BIOS so I can't do an XP disc repair (which is odd because all 3 hard drives are SATA). My other drive shows up (regular IDE) but it won't load the windows xp disc. It just sits on a black screen with a flashing underscore for awhile and then boots from the hard drive.... Which blue screens as soon as the XP logo goes away...
I have another IDE DVD drive I'm gonna try and hopefully that'll let me load the xp disc.

You sure your BIOS is set to boot from the CD Drive as primary? Also are you sure that your copy of Windows is a good copy?
If you can get into safe mode, you might not even need the Windows CD. You can uninstall certain driver packages in safe mode, like video, sound and chipset typically. Those might fix your problem. If it's an integrated controller driver though, you might be SOL unless you reinstall your OS.
I would check your device manager as well as the event viewer in safe mode to see if there is any error reporting that can help you ID the driver that's causing the BSOD.
Nope, can't even get into Windows. It blue screens as soon as it tries.
Yes I do have the boot order starting with my DVD rom drive and the copy of Windows was bought from best buy and already used in my friends PC so it should be fine.

Same here.
My OS drive is a WD Raptor 74GB, my slave is a 250GB I think. I just keep all the drivers and programs on there...so reformats are extremely easy.
I put in a different DVD drive and it loads the xp disc (thank god) but when I do the repair what do I do for the admin password? I never put a password in. When I leave it blank it brings up C:\Windows>
Well you can always try "chkdsk /f" which will check the hard drive for corrupted clusters and try to fix them, but I don't think that is your problem.
Rather than going to the repair console, I would go through the windows setup like normal. At some point windows will search for an existing installation and it should find yours, then you can choose to repair the installation. That might take care of your problem.
Well I did the repair... Now it wants me to activate it before I can do anything else.... Unfortunately it shows my desktop wallpaper and just sits there and does nothing..... WTF?
