If you get caught near someone with an automatic weapon...you're royally boned 3 shots and you're dead. I think it's more stealth based than previous metal gears.

But then....maybe the reviewers played it on easy? There are different levels of difficulty...

all i'm saying is you can't claim that a publication has no integrity just because you dont agree with their review

Actually in EGM the magazine 3 people review the big games. Halo 3 got a 10, 10 , 9.0 and Bioshock received all 10's. People were critical because Halo 3 got 10's even though the review didn't really didn't highlight it as a 10 game other than its Halo. When asked the difference between a Bioshock 10 and a Halo 3 10 it was said that Bioshock received a 10 for the gameplay, story, content and Halo 3's 10 was because its awesome and its Halo.

Also Burnout Paradise require HDD to go online and thats not an MMO. MS already backed out of that MMO's only thing.
The Why: Criterion Explains Burnout 360 Hard Drive Requirement
Quote:
We opened a dialogue with Microsoft to attempt to discover a possible solution and all possible technical options were investigated to retain the seamless freedom of Burnout without requiring the HDD. Unfortunately a solution was not available and we decided together that it would be in the best interests of the Burnout community if we require the HDD for full online play.

Anyway MGS4 is an awesome game. A lot of people will like it. Some won't. You happen to be one of them that is against it just because its on the PS3.

But if you really don't care, why are we having this discussion?

Actually, it would need 6 dual-layer DVDs for the game being that MGS4 fills a dual-layer BD. 50gb FTW.

You would think that Konami would try to maximize profit by releasing it on both HD consoles but I guess some companies/people can be loyal to a fault in some cases. This rumor has been around since MGS4 details first came out and Konami reps and Kojima have denied them each time. That being said there is no "contract" between Sony and Konami as far as I know so I am sure if the really want to they can put it on the 360 but probably not for another 12-18 months. I, after playing the game, do not see it going to the 360 ever. There are quite a few "things" they would have to change, including some codec conversations that would not make sense if it was on the 360. lol I will just leave it at that.

EDIT: I clicked the link after posting my above response. You realize that article was from almost a year ago right? Not only that but it is on a self-proclaimed xbox360 fanboy site, can you have a less credible source? lol

Ya Konami is a company and Kojima is just a man....but I think they do things differently over there. He's not just a man, but a highly respected director/producer. After the failure that was MGS2 on Xbox, why would Konami wish to test the waters again? This time with a much much more expensive game?

Yea, 5GB of actual game, 30GB of redundant data, 3GB of video and 12GB of blank disc.

Ive never played a MGS game, but Ive watched my friend play the last 3. The story looks interesting, but Im not into the sneaking around gameplay.

I dont know about a 90min cutscene, but Adam did say (in the podcast review) that there were some scenes that stretched pass the 60min timeline. I just say they hurry up and make it into a movie already.

Why make it a movie when the game is better than a movie. lol Seriously though, it is like actually playing a movie and you are in control of the lead actor. I am playing it for the second time now and my jaw still drops in amazement at several parts.

LMFAO! That was quite a tantrum there Mr. 360 fanboy. Do you feel all better now? I can bet if MGS4 was some how magically on the 360 you would be praising it just as much as PS3 owners.

Who cares Everyone usually ends up buying a console for game preferences PS for MGS/Tekken/ etc. etc. that are Sony exclusive. Nintendo has the entire Mario world and only thing that comes to mind for the Xbox is Halo, which is the game most 360 owners have and swear by I haven't bought a 360 cause nothing in their catalog catches my attention, plus the fail rate is way too high for my likes.

MGS4 can't be put on one DVD9. Actually MGS4 takes up 33GB on the Blu Ray. DVD9 doesn't use all 9GBs but only about 7-8GB. So your looking at 4 to 5 discs but probably more since you don't have one disc you have to repeat some data over the disc and also since you can't install the Load times will be much longer. Also throw in Metal gear Online may or may not have to be on another disc which would be lame.

So to think a 33gb game that does use some compression could fit into 1 or 2 discs is not very feasible. Could it be done on the 360 I think so but not in its shape or exact form.

I know EGM has 3 reviewers now, didn't realize they did back then.. the website only has 1 review for each game.

requiring the hard drive and doing an install are 2 different things. the reason is so they dont have to limit what cars you can use - if you have a different car than your friend does, it will upload the data which is saved temporarily (and in the background).

that's entirely different than "hey this is your first time playing... wait for 20 min while we put 6gb of data on your drive"

i'm not against it at all, and certainly not because its on the ps3. im just not a huge metal gear solid fan. but if i was goin to jump back into the series it would probably be with this one.
