ps3, I been going threw the sticky looking at PSN names and I havent found anyone to play with other than the ppl that I know from high school, friends or the ppl hat are already playuing when I start. ONLINE is the shit, so much fun. We had a moonbeem yesterday with 6 of us stuff'd in the van letting the lead fly.
not playing too seriously yet as im still finishing blue dragon.
havent played it enough give a "review" yet,.. but my impression thus far is that this is not a "10" game. maybe that will change.. i'll let ya's know.
I beat it last night. Very good game, but hardly the revolutionary game it's made out to be. In fact, aside from the graphical upgrade, I'd say that it takes a step back in many respects to previous GTA titles. IMO Vice City had a much more varied mission structure. Part 4 missions are: go make a deal with so and so, deal goes bad, kill everyone; or go kill so and so outright. Vice City also had the ability to purchase properties and make money from them, what is the point of money in part 4, just to buy weapons? The controls are downright frustrating at times particularly if there is an enemy behind you, good luck with the crappy auto aim and poor mans gears of war cover system.

thats my same complaint about not having the ability to buy houses nor can you buy cars but when you use the internet at those TW@ cafe's, you see the ad's for cars that are for sale....oh and you can't fly PLANES!!...i missed that from San Andreas....yeah you can fly helicopters, but i like flying those private jets and the 747 in San Andreas....
But I do like the 3 options you have when you pick a whore off the streets, a handjob, blowjob, or ride the bull lol
what happened to the chainsaw, flamethrower, tanks, buying houses, jets, etc... kinda sucks they took some good features from the previous games out...
Im at somewhere around 88% completion of the game.
At 70% now and on the last mission I believe? (Roman's Wedding). The game is pretty legit, and the online is definately sweet. I was a little disappointed about the lack of buildings you can buy, can't trick out your ride, not as many weapons, no planes, etc. but those were definately not deal breakers for me! I'm convinced it is game of the year (waits for Smoger to play more and argue that )
im just pretending their going to add all that shit back as downloadable content, but then again i have to pay extra for shit that was in previous games... :-\
after i play a significant portion of the game, i'll give my official review. i do like that the cars handle a bit more realistically, and i see a wider range of animations so far.
graphics though... i mean they're good.. better than the older GTA's, but like those games, other stuff on the system outdoes them. like I said, I've been flipping between this and Blue Dragon... and that game is just BEAUTIFUL. nowhere in that game do you see a polygon that looks like a polygon. it's all bump mapped, focal blurred, anti aliased... it's the first game i've seen that looks like a cartoon WITHOUT cell shading. it's like playing a pixar movie.
also, i think they need to draw a line with these damn mini games. if they want to have bowling in there.. make it an enjoyable game of bowling. if they dont want to put the effort in, they should drop it entirely. they just need to stop shoehorning stuff into the engine that its not made for.
i love the game.. BUT... the 30hr achievement has me rushing through the story. in old gtas i spent soooo much time just fucking around. but this one i just do mission after mission.
things i like: storyline. mission variety. cellphone and computer adds a lot to the game. ai cars are more persistant(they tend to not dissapear when they go out of sight), streamlined food system(1 item on the menu that gives you full health instead of different levels of restoration/prices), all the easter eggs
things i dislike: low framerate, lots of stuff removed from past gta's: "wacky" weapons/items, ability to fly planes, swimming underwater, much smaller map, firefighter/ambulance/cop mini games
also, im very uninterested in the cars.. i try to take taxi's everywhere.. they help with the 30hr achievement because you can skip the drive, and no risk of getting chased by cops either
just got the helicopter for the first time... holy shit does the city look impressive from up there!
also noticing all the physics effects WHILE people are in cars... turn the camera sideways and crash into something lightly.. you'll see niko's head bob as the car makes impact. little touches like that really make the game amazing
btw... in case anyone didnt play it today, they released an update to it.. something about the online matches, which i havent touched at all yet
