Default Gaming headsets

What do you all prefer/recommend? I'm looking for one for use with the PS3.

Thanks.

I have the Turtle Beach headset for my 360. They recently came out with one for the PS3. I love mine.

i have the blutooth headset that comes with Socom and End War. I got it for like $30 with Endwar.

Any Blutooth headset will work so it all depends on what style you want.

Ya, I am debating picking one up for my 360. Seriously, search amazon for them. I found the 360 headset for $39.99 when it's normally $59.99 in stores. Also I just got my wireless modem for my 360 for $72.97 shipped when it's normally $99.99 plus tax in stores... Huge savings!! So if you can wait, search on amazon. Usually takes about a week to get to you with free shipping.

Right, why would you go usb abd tie yourself to the console, when for very little more money, you can get bluetooth and be wireless. I got one with my Warhawk game, that ones under the knife now, I'm hacking it into my motorcycle helmet, becuase for like $25, I picked up Endwar on clearance at Target, which has the $40 sony official inside.

PlayStation LifeStyle Tom Clancy’s Endwar and Official PS3 Headset for $22.48

I liked the USB headset over the Bluetooth because I won't have to worry about battery life. I don't mind being "tied" to the PS3 because I don't get up and move around when I'm playing..

I dont sweat battery life. Since my headset uses a USB power cord, I just charge it when done, either on the PS3, or one of the USB chargers around the house. Now, I dont play longer than 1-2 hours top, and you might play longer. And, I sit 8-10 feet away from the TV when playing.

If you're looking for a PS3 headset, get the official Sony one. Other bluetooth headsets won't be compatible with "High Quality" mode. If you use any old bluetooth headset be aware that you will sound garbled to others in a game or chat. I can immediately tell when someone isn't using the PS3 headset because their voice sounds awful.

Battery life is good on the Sony headset too, I get between 6-8 hours on a full charge (depending on how loud I set the speaker.) You can hook up the PS3 headset via USB as well, if you want to be hard wired. Or, if you want to charge it while playing, you can plug the USB into the back of the charging dock and put the headset on the dock, turn on the headset, and voila you can talk while its charging.
