yes the xbox is modified (firmware on the DVD drive)
Who's to say I still didn't buy the game but am not patient enough to wait?
You can play unreleased games just don't be connected to XBL until AFTER it's released then you're good.
I have the "modification" done to my xbox as well.... I get all the newest games usually way before launch. Good connection. I do still purchase the games I really like tho.

that's a different case, but i find it highly unlikely. ..though not totally impossible since ive done it once or twice.
but blkd is def a thief since he rightly admits to having it and not playing it until release.
and.. if they are going to ban you, staying offline while you play prob wont help since the game activity and achievements will still sync to your live account when you sign in
we also need to get every on together for some track days online hehe but only srts heheh see who can tune the best !

i actually dl the games then when its released i play it if i like it i buy it if not i usually give it away to someone....if i dont buy the games i like then i am not supporting the production of good games....stealing games really makes it hard for devs to focus in on what people really want like i had arkham asylum and wolverine a month before launch and played them on my disconnected arcade system and i love them so when they were released i went out and purchased them...i really modded my 360 cause i didnt think it was fair i have to buy 3 copies of a game to system link in my house with my family so i have 2 modded 1 not example kids can be on cod4 in the game room my fiance can be on in the bedroom and i get living room...system link !!....and to the people above you will def get busted the 360 keeps a internal list of when a game is played for the first time then sends it to ms when you do finally log on just takes up to 6mon before they get to you....

that doesnt really make it any better. use rentals or reviews to decide if you want to buy a game. if you KNOW you're buying a game, then fine by all means dl it to play early.
and giving away the ones you don't like doesn't really help.. it just passes the loss of a sale to someone else.
we all love well done games like Forza 3 but if people dont buy them there's no reason for them to go the extra mile on them.

like honestly its really more for the system link thing kids love to play cod4 with me and the gf so it really helped out i think a local system link should be able to use one disc but i dont think its actually possible so the modding was the only way....works well i even tried install and start up...then remove disc and go to the next but that didnt work either..whats funny is i sent my modded elite to ms for a red ring that the kids said it had ...i never saw it and it worked fine BUT i figured better send it...so i did and they warrantied it...didnt even notice it was modded....funny stuff...i am a heavy ms supporter i really love the netflix and now the zune hd streaming is coming.....its going to be awesome
I'm actually in agreement on the system link thought process. That's a rather valid point!
As for logging the first time the game is played, you know either (A) the system clock can be changed and (B) they can't assume every Xbox's internal clock is set to the right date/time. A nice long power outage could knock it out...and hell when I first got my unmodded xbox from the store I played tons of games before fully setting it up. The clock showed some time in 2005 and I'm playing Rock Band 2. I swear I must have had the game before it existed and jammed instruments not even made yet. Damn I'm good. BAN ME!

I'm up for a good debate...any counter thoughts?
point in fact any person seen on xbl that has played the game before its released WILL be banned unless he doesnt log in from now till its released....then MAYBE its a loophole i can see in the future console games will have serial numbers much like pc games....

Right time will tell...well Microsoft is trying to throw the ban hammer now. I will currently keep my ethernet plug disconnected until October 27th. We'll see if my thought process is accurate.
Apparently Microsoft is getting pissy...I haven't logged on to XBL so we'll see what happens. I found this online that some people got. I'm not one of them as my xbox hasn't seen the internet.

see i just wait for about 3 weeks prior to release before using a burn so abx360 database is accurate....for the most part my main system the elite never has burn discs used its usually the other 2 that system link to my main all 3 are technically modded i got the idea from the fact i was playing through fallout 3 and so was my gf and her oldest daughter....so we had 3 xboxs but we are fighting over the gd games.....so i made the decision to mod i have all the games in actual form if i dont like a game i burned i give them away or chuck em.....on another note everyone go get that operation flashpoint dragon rising.. ....ITS THE SHIT super realism...makes cod4 look like duke nukem
I was upset not to see the srt-4 on the official car lists posted online. Thanks for posting an actual vid, I can't wait for F3 to come out!! Only a few more days now.. I'm so happy they brought the 1/4 mile back, I can waste hours running different setups and not breaking my car in real life
I bought my 360 and just had it flashed and got COD4 and Halo3 burned for me, this is the only way I'm playing games on the 360 though haha. I don't think I'll ever buy a game ha.
Also, guy who flashed my 360 (has done tons) said that they can still pick up if you play the game before the actual release date, even if you have your 360 unplugged the whole time and after it's released, plug it back in for internets. I am not gonna take the chance and just wait until it's released and then get a burned copy.
