Since Nintendo sued the makers of the R4 cart this week, i decided to jump in and grab one in case legitimate sellers stop selling them in fear of Nintendo jumping on them.
I have no plans whatsoever to use it for piracy, but i'm super excited for all the homebrew that is available for it. Just wondering if anyone is using one and what are your favorite uses for it...
woohoo just got word that my R4 shipped.. so i'm in the clear
should have it monday because its only coming from jersey. now to find a good deal on a 2gb microsd.. or just settle for the $4 /free shipping one on newegg for now..
Where did you get the R4? I have an M3 simply and i fucking love it!

theres a few sites that are a couple bucks cheaper, but im always wary when buying something like this.. i didnt want it shipped from china just because that can take for fucking ever through customs.. and some places sell fake shit
it was like 38 bucks shipped. when gameboy advance came out i think i paid like 90 for a 64mbit flash cart
anyway,.. im good. i have no plans to use this for piracy.. except for maybe clubhouse games bc that's out of print and even if i spend $60 on a used copy,.. nintendo won't see a dime of it.
Just bought a 2 gig MicroSD card for $15. Not the cheapest, but it was a PNY from Staples so I didn't have to wait for shipping. Not for a DS, but for my Palm Centro.

i just saw sears has one this week for 13.. not sure what brand. im gonna grab it tomorrow
no not piratebay. If you're not going to DL roms why the fuck did you buy the r4?
for homebrew apps..which, yes, are roms, but they're legally distributed ones..
maybe it's because i write software too but im a stickler for supporting good work. i pirated tons of shit when i was in college and couldnt afford anything.. now that i have some extra money i like to do the right thing.
That defeats the purpose of it IMO, but whatever floats your wallet
i disagree.. there's a TON of great homebrew stuff out.. have you even seen some of it? there's web browsers, aim clients, original games, emulators,.. all kinds of stuff.
same with the wii too.. i could install any wiiware/virtual console game that i want but i stick to the homebrew which is getting better and better. i actually downloaded dr mario because it was out in japan like a month before the us. as soon as the NA version came out, i deleted the pirated one and downloaded the proper one. what can i say.. i'd like these companies to keep putting out good games.
