Shenmue is still my fav and behind it is Quake Arena 3. I had bought another dreamcast back in July to replace my broken one just to replay Shenmue all over again.
I don't know if I can pick just one or two favorite games.
The Dreamcast really had that "SEGA feel" and that is totally lost now. I'm not sure why their games are so lackluster nowadays.
Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure(the last great sonic game), Shenmue, Chu Chu Rocket, Space Channel 5, Jet Grind Radio..there's so many.
Even third party games were somehow different on there. How come we've never seen another Power Stone or Rival Schools game?
I remember being amazed at how great the Dreamcast was with arcade ports, and that's something that never really shined through on the PS2 or Xbox. The 360 could obviously pull it off, but the effect is totally lost because there are no arcades anymore.
Oh, and Unreal Tournament was so so fun on there. Me and my friends would play that for hours on end. It was a shame that the AI was too easy even at the hardest setting and that you couldn't add more than 4.. but it was still a great game nonetheless.
We used to have Soul Caliber tournaments on my Dreamcast when I was in school in the military. There would literally be like 10 of us packed into a room swapping the controller when someone lost a match. I could kick some serious ass with Sigfried
Also Bust-A-Move 4 was one of my favorite casual games on the system, so addictive!

when i bought that second Dreamcast, it came with 4 games, one of them being Crazy Taxi 2 and i have yet to play it. but i remember always wasting dollars in the arcade playing that game. i have a few other games just can't remember off the top of my head right now. i do know that Sega GT was another great game that i had played but never bought it, i may or may not try to find it and buy it.
it was crazy to go online with a console way back then . phantasy star online was soo soo good. my family had aol back then and their dialup didnt work on the dreamcast so i used to sign up for multiple netzero/bluelight.com/whatever free internet accounts so i could play online. most of them only offered 2-5 hours per month so i was constantly swapping them.
I got my Dreamcast on x-mas of '99. I got Sonic Adventure, NFL2K, NBA2K, and Soul Calibur with it. Those were some great games. I would have to say my favorites of the system were Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and Virtua Tennis. Still have my Dreamcast with Soul Calibur and Virtua Tennis. Couldn't bring myself to part with it. Its in my top 3 best systems of all time.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer was the shit. shenmue was a pretty sick game too.
i loved how in TER they used the low tv resolution to put accurate badging on the vehicles that they didn't have the licenses to use. because they were too blurry to actually make out, and the cars were named primarily by their engine codes and things of that nature, they never infringed and as the player, you still knew exactly what you were driving.
