I had to spend the next morning getting a new set of tires on her car, as well as a new spare because the previous owner ran the car like 30,000 miles on it and the steel belts were showing. By that time it was too late to go to the track, which really sucks but I plan on going either this weekend to PIR or next weekend to Woodburn and I will post those numbers as soon as I have a chance. I am not at all superstitious about friday the 13th, but damn...what a shitty way to start off a weekend with a new car! I have to go to the track soon or I am going to go crazy!!

How is the car running?

It's running really well but I haven't actually been to the drag strip to see what it will do. I may go this weekend if it is nice. I just had some unexpected issues to tend to and it got in the way of me going to the track with my car last weekend.

I really want to see you beat the other local that just ran 13.1 at 106 mph. I think your car has it in it and this being on the stock FMIC. You have the MPH there now you just have to get the launch down.

Well I got just got back from the dragstrip at PIR a few hours ago and I didn't do too bad. I bet I could have pulled a 13.1 at 106 on slicks. I pulled a 13.805 at 102.5mph with a 2.19 60 foot time and a 13.810 at 103.5mph with a 2.26 60 foot time on the toyo proxes T1r's. For some reason I just cannot get out of the hole no matter what I do. The car either bogs before the turbo spools up or spins and even when it hooks in 2nd gear I only pull a 2.2 60 foot time. I raced a new STI and turned a 13.8 and he turned a 13.4, but he only ran 101mph and I ran almost 103mph that run. I aired my tires down to 24 pounds. I ran the 110 octane sonoco racegas and turned the boost up a few cranks but it was only hitting around 20 pounds. There were tons of cops on the freeway on the way to the races and I couldn't really test the boost until I was there. Plus when I raced I was too busy looking at the rpms between each shift that I never did see what it was boosting until I came home. I bet if I would have cranked it up to 22 pounds and had a good launch with a 2.0 60 foot time I could have pulled off a 13.5 or 13.6. It was also PIR, which I heard is a slower track than most and the weather was pretty humid. I did beat an Infiniti G35 by 7 car lengths, tied with an Evo 9 (which I caught up with at the end of the track), and killed a BMW. I lost to a '03 mustang cobra that ran a 12.1 at 116mph and that STI which I could have killed from a roll. But yeah, when finances allow I definitely want to get the car re-tuned and throw an intercooler on it while we're at it.

Well thats not good.... did it run better on the race gas?

It looks like that intercooler is very much needed at this point but you got some good kills in on some fast cars. I know that we need to get some additional tuning done and the FMIC is going to be huge for your car. Good times considering your still not WOT shifting and OK 60ft times. 13.5 is in your car very easy.

Yeah I have a feeling the big one is that I don't WOT shift yet. I know it would hit 13.5 with the right driver. In fact any driver WOT shifting through every gear and getting a 2.0 60ft time would have grabbed at least a 13.5. Yes the race gas actually made a big difference. Before I was running consistently 14 to 14.1 at 101 to 102mph but I did have one really lucky run with a 13.9. This time I was hitting 13.9 when I had a 2.4 60ft time. Plus I did almost hit a 13.7 at around 103 to 104. So the race gas gave me another 1 to 2mph and an average gain in the 1/4 mile of 2 tenths of a second if you count my average runs before and now. It is more consistently hitting 13's then before. But honestly I felt like the traction was really shitty last night. I am going to turn the boost up to 22 pounds today and do a little driving around with the rest of the race gas. I will let you know what it feels like.
