but absolutely possible.....you think the thought of "parting" my car out then towing it to a parking lot then calling the cops ....hasnt ever come to mind....you cant get caught witht he loot if its all sold and gone....the crime isnt commited till you get everything organized and are ready to call the cops......as far as they know ive been driving it for the last few days........if your smart at that point they cant prove shit.....id never do that cause im no thief but i know that its done all the time...i know someone who sold his rims CASH no paper trail then put his car on blocks and called the cops next morning.....new rims and tires for a 250 deductible.........schawing

Cops dont actually go looking for stolen vehicles.

The fine young men and women that serve this country would not do anything to scam insurance.

Local Good Samaritan Gets Truck and Wedding Ring Stolen
Nicole Sanchez, nicole@q13fox.com,

November 17, 2007, 8:58 PM PST

Silverdale — A local good samaritan who stopped to help what appeared to be a stranded motorist is speaking out about the crime that left him without his truck and put a snag in his wedding plans.

Marine Corporal Jared Jordan was on his way to work early Thursday morning to Naval Station Bangor when he saw what appeared to be a couple with a broken down car off Highway three in Silverdale.

He stopped to help, but while he was looking under the hood of the couple's car he heard a sound that made his heart sink. The man was driving away in his truck and the woman in the car almost ran him over as she made a getaway.

To make matters worse, the battery in Corporal Jordan's cell phone was dead, so he had to run about two miles to the nearest gas station to call police, at three thirty in the morning.

About nine hours later a friend spotted Jordan's truck ditched on the side of a road it was dented in several spots and missing several things - including his military uniforms worth about a thousand bucks. But it's what was in a tiny shopping bag that left him heart broken.

The crooks made off with the wedding ring he was about to give to his fiancee.

But Jordan says the wedding will go on. They're getting married on November 21st.

And he says he'll still help stuck drivers, but next time will be a little more cautious and make sure he takes his keys with him.

------Yeah.. like any marine has a hard time running at wee hours in the morning.
