So, this last thursday was a blast at Red Robin... some of u asked where did I get the HID kit from and that my ballast where small enough to fit under the headlight. Ok... this is where my HID kit came from... seems like the kit gotten cheaper since I last time purchase. Here is the website.

Damn that is a small balast and ignitor. Any warranty on them? Something that small has to heat up quick and since Jerry has been fighting install issues with his (no I didn't install them) and warranty issues I would hope that something that small doesn't burn up. If they last, that will be a killer kit.
I've never been that in to HID's and all that...but this kit has me thinking.
Stop thinking...do it...do it!!! Hahhahaha!!!
Hey John... these kits are better than my old one. Silver-ES recommended this site to me... the warranty is good. Silver-ES had his warranteed. The igniter and ballast doesn't get hot... hell even my old ones never did either and I had one of the first gen.
Here is picture of my old HID's
Installation is a breeze... just take the headlight out first... plug'n'play. I installed my new kit the same way my old ones were installed.

No questions they look very good and I am very impressed. Do you have any specs or amp draw on them? I know that the initial hit is like 20 amps for the ignitor but I am a little worried about installing them on the factory wire due to multifunction switch issues and it melting. If the draw is under 8 amps total (4 per side) that makes them a great option for HID's. If its more then that you might want to take a look at switching over to a realy set up.
Shouldn't melt your stock harness or have to change your fuses to make this kit work. Since your not running more current out it.. it should not be hot. The kit only draws out 35 watts as oppose to stock bulbs. If Jerry is having problems... the kit must be garabage. Remmber my old McCulloch kit... I had that kit for 5 years with no problems... that kit went from my 97 first gen neon to the old 2003 neon. I will take a look at the spec.

No specs??? Its not an issue of running current its an issue of what the balast is asking for current wise. You can not compair the out put of a halogen to a HID, you know everything I am telling you. So its a good kit and I will leave it at that. I am just worried when I see such affordable kits getting installed on people cars, cheap doesn't always mean its garbage.
yeah I've gotten about 8 kits off this same guy, all of them were flawless. I think it's a year on the bulbs and 1-2 on the ignitors. I had a problem with one of the ignitors after I think it was 2 1/2 years and they gave me a new one for the cost of shipping and returning the old one
Working voitage---------- 9V-16V range
P-consumption :35W,50W
Quote:
the conversion of Volts to Amps is governed by the equations Amps = Watts/Volts
For example 120 watts/110 volts = 1.09 amps
So...If I'm doing this right:
low end would be 35w/9v = 3.89 per side
Hi end would be 50w/16v = 3.13 per side
Life of the HID is/should be 3000 hrs
By my Ballets are bigger. I ended up taking the bumper off and mounting them hidden away
Yes Ohms law, but you are reffering to the bulbs not the balast. Its the balast that requests the amps and then sends it out to the bulbs.
Not sure I cut the specs off the web site and them seem to be saying they are the specs for the ballasts. I'd have to email them to make sure though
Mine are a full plug and play kit.

Good, then my comment on cheap not being garbage was correct. Its nice to see small balast finally on the market. In the past the only way to get something like this was to pull it from the back of a HID in an offroad light (balasts are built into the shell of the light, very trick). Now you can get these for a very fair price, good to see.

I see max but no minumum amp for input, odd? From what I see they should work but I will take customers who have installed them over math any day. Installed units with no problems 12 > math.
That and they are made in China, I could not find any US vendors of the product and it looks like they need someone who can write in English to proof read spelling in the specs.
Other then that I'm not going to recomend them to anyone until I've had them on my car for a min of 6 months with zero problems
