Default What to get for my boys b-day?

Heres the deal. My son is turning 8 this weekend and he has everything a kid could want (27" tv with PS one and vhs player in his room, bike, motorcycle, do I have to go on) he is spoiled to say the least. He told me he wants a gas powered scooter and I am not sure about this. He also wants a PS2 for his room. I was thinking of a gocart or some other 4 wheeled device but I just dont know what to get him. He likes Yu Gi Oh cards but everytime we buy him a pack he ends u putting 1/2 of them in the "doubles stack". We got him some neat books on dinosaurs (sp) and are looking to another big item. What are some suggestions? One other idea that we came up with is a gas powered rc car but that would be more fun for me then him.

Yea forgot about the games, we are getting him a few of those also (used ones for the ps one) My son has a need for speed right now and the bike is more then enough for me, the scooter would make the gray hair start.

It wouldnt help, matter of fact it might make it worse. Example; "hey dad I read that so and so does this is it true" 30 seconds latter "hey dad I read that so and so eats dirt is that true?" and it would go on and on. I love him to death but I can only answer his questions for so long.

how good are you at wood projects? I remember I wanted a go-cart at that age but my brother had just fliped his and got hurt pretty bad.... so instead he built me a box car complete with red paint and flames. kept me and my firends busy for years. and was much safer than a gas powered whatever.... just a thought. hope it helps

psp is a good idea but it can be quite costly. for everything you need to really enjoy it it gets pricy. If you are willing to pay that much on it then pay a little more and get the xbox 360 and tell him he needs to keep it at your house.

Does he like sports at all? Maybe take him to a Sonics or Seahawks game, or UW Basketball.

Since he's 8 he should be bored with strippers by now and a full fledged alcoholic. Should already have his own cell phone too.

Get him an R6 so he can ride with Bacardi.

But seriuosly 8 years old he should be fine with one of those mini motorcyles, get him an electric instead of gas power so his speeds stay down below 40mph and your neighbores dont complain as much about the noise. My daughter turns 8 in May and she almost has me convinced to get her one. I mean I think there safer then a skateboard as long as they have protective gear. I'll probably wrap my daughter up in bubble Wrap over the protective gear for the first month or so but thats just because shes my girl. My son will be 3 in Jan. He'll probably be riding it before he's 4.
