i was wondering if any of you guys could help me out, i have a friend that is looking for a shop to fine tune his wrx. he did a lot of aftermarket parts and is waiting for his utec to come back from turbo xs (bought it off ebay and didn't work). we are planning on going over to seattle for hot import nights in july and thats when he wants to have it worked on. are there any good shops around the area and how can he get a hold of them to make an appointment?
thanks for the help, maybe i'll run into one or two of ya over there at the show.
Since he has a Subby you should go check out the NW forums at www.nasioc.com, I bet they would be able to direct you to a specialized Subaru tuner better than we could.
go to portland and hit up matrix engineering. NOBODY UP HERE IS GOOD WITH SUBARUS!!! I can tune a UTEC if you need me to..ive tuned a couple before...its pretty easy with a laptop and a 5 miles strech of road...

Nobody up here is good with Subaru's?????
World One is located in Seattle they are probably one of the best subby shops on the west coast. in fact they took 5th place in the time attack just a year ago and are very well respected in the import community. Subarus from everywhere west of missisippi have been sent to them to be worked on I have seen drones of people from Canada drive down, Many NW skyline owners wont allow anyone except W1 to touch there car. On top of that the owner is an extremely nice guy and will bend over backwards for most his customers. He has offered his shop to me and the SRT community many a time.

damn, you guys are awesome, thanks for the info, i'll make sure he gets in contact with world one and matrix eng. to see if he can get in. he has more than just the utec to have done, so thats why he wants a pro to do it. had fun putting in his jic coilovers this afternoon, can't wait to get some ipp coilovers. still debating on which to get the adjustables or non adjustables. my wallet says non, my brain says adjustables, damn rent, insurance, and car payments.
oh, kingj, when it gets closer to hin, lets get in touch and maybe we can shoot the shit in person, but as far as the crew from last year, i don't think its gonna be the same people. i just got back to mt last summer from san diego, so i don't know who all went, but i'll try and round up as many as possible. maybe i can get my friend with the red one (there are so little in this state we can go by colors, i'm the black one, ones the red, ones the blue, and i think there may be 2 yellow, but not sure.
thanks again, glad to see all you guys pulling together to help, and maybe i'll see ya in july.
man i can't wait, haven't been to a hin since like march of 04. hope the one in seattle are as good as the ones i went to in la. you can't beat a car show/dance club/vendor show all in one spot. the free stuff and the models are what puts it over the top. my suggestion is to find flyers cause they save you a couple bucks at the ticket counter, or at least thats what they used to do, so check on it then it will only be like $20-23 instead of $25-26 (you can put that towards gas). anyone that wants to meet up in july pm me when it gets closer to the show.
they are good with parts and help but they don't have a dyno to tune on...they are awesome guys though and they do have a helluva great STI that did AWESOME at the SCC time attack as you mentioned...it's to bad they don't have a SHOP!!!!!!!!!
There shop is located in west seattle. They do installs, swaps and even oil changes. They do not have a dyno that is true. They Tune at the redmond AWD place. They fly specialists from Vishnu and many others in probably once every other month for special dyno days. An actual Dyno is there next step but they are waiting for the people next door to vacate.

Your wrong =P
www.worldoneperformance.com are extremely good! They are based in seattle and are a newer shop but their reputation is already huge, because they are awesome. No AWD dyno but they will tune your car while driving I believe.
If you don't like them, check out axiom in tacoma I believe. They have an AWD dyno and I had one of their cards here but not sure where I put it or I could give you the address. They tune all sorts of suby parts.
The best thing you could do is have him buy my uppipe and then gut it =P
I have a spare stock uppipe Im wanting to sell soon so all he has to do is gut it, then pull out his old one, and sell it for the same price I sell him mine =) Hell of a deal for a 15 or so WHP increase.
sorry ceyvme, he switched from top mount to a front mount this week. he's going all out on this thing, well performance wise, still looks like a regular wrx with a melon launcher from the side and back. should be interesting what it's like when he's done.
Hey Geekmonster, are there a lot of people from bozeman going to HIN? I know quite a few people from missoula that are going, but haven't heard much from here.
