Ok, I know everyone has there favorite, I was just looking for input for a decent set of meats. I'm seriously considering the all weather pilots, I think there a rather well balanced tire for this type of weather up here. Wet weather traction is starting to be more of a priority than the dry weather traction these days.

I've been running the BFG G-force KDW's, and I really like them .... they have pretty good wet wheather traction for an Ultra High performance tire .... I opted for alittle more rubber than the stock size and I think it makes a vast improvement...... 235/40/18
But then again, when your dealing with 300HP or so in a FWD, even the best Wet traction tires will break loose if you give it too much gas, or drive it too hard.
My car came with the KDWs how much wider are your tires? do they rub? Anyone know if the KDW 2s are any better? All I've got is the stage 2, how much of a difference would i be able to feel going a hair wider?

Stock is 205, mine are 235 ..... 30mm wider per wheel or about 1.25" or 5" inches more of rubber on the road than stock.
I did rub alittle in tha back on the edge of the fender, but my car has the Mopar Stage 3 coilovers, and it is a bit low, if you were at stock hight or just abit higher in the back than I am you would have no problem
How's it handle? I wonder how much difference that'd make on the skidpad?
Tires aren't everything, but just a wider tire of the same kind should give you better traction.
My car handles like a dream, but I also have CO's (lowered), Rear strut tower brace, Shrtened endlinks to keep the swaybar level and some poly bushings .... Along with Wider tires on 18's

True, but wider tires are worse in the snow and are more prone to hydroplaning...but you knew that
As far as tires, I HEAVILY recommend Toyo Proxes 4's. They are pretty much the best all-season tire you can get. They stick in the rain as well as the Pilots did in the dry That, and they are M+S rated, and quieter than the Pilots. They stick better dry than the Pilots did. The only thing the Pilots have over the Proxes are the sidewalls. The Pilots had a crisper turn-in response, but I believe the Toyos are a better tire overall, at less than 1/2 the price.
My 215/45ZR17's can be had for around $100 a tire online, or around $140+ locally.
That's not bad, It might be something to consider. I'm going through lack of traction denial, just got wasted at a light by an STI. All I could do was watch him walk away. Of course things changed when he finally gave me a rolling chance.
Get Toyo Proxes 4's! They're awesome. Got some on the RX-7 and when my rims come in I'll be getting another set for the SRT-4. I can't vouch for their winter performance (yet) but I can tell you they rule on dry pavement and they're very quiet. You won't be dissapointed. RX-7 has 245/50/16 and they were $440 installed! You can't beat that awesome deal.
