Default subaru vs srt?

I'm lookin at gettin a new car here in the near future and was lookin at 05-08 Subaru Legacy GT's. Question is has anyone ever raced one of these and how did you fare? The numbers show that it's 2.5 H4 Turbo which makes 250 hp and 250 tq vs. SRT 2.4 I4 Turbo which makes 230 hp and 250 tq. Both stock the numbers i'm referencing are from

comparing 05's of each car.

I've ran one, up a hill coming up to get home. He was pretty quick. I stayed right behind him the whole way up to fuck with him until he let off. Then I passed him but it wasn't fair due to stage 3. I had to back off several times to not pass him. Stock for stock, I would say it would be close. I don't know what mods he had though. Some black smoke out of his exhaust when he was wot.

At your age, with insurance, I'd go with the Subaru. Not to mention AWD which is nice to have. I just think there are a lot more parts to make srt's go fast compared to Legacy's.

plus the awd could be handy in the winter time.

but stock to stock, the srt might be a lil bit quicker. I was reading on the nasioc forums that a guy ran his stock gt was 14.2@96.

and the srt is 400 pounds lighter so the pwr to weight ratio is a lil higher on teh neon.

in all honesty go with what makes you happy...i would test drive both and write down what you liked and didnt like about both cars...then make a decision based on that and how much you would be paying a month in car payments and insurance for each car...have fun

Dollar per dollar, I think the SRT is dirt cheap to make it go fast. I have a 12 sec 1/4 mile car with pump gas and street tires. That's stupid fast considering all your high end super dollar supercars do the same thing for $300,000. I couldn't be more happy with my choice of car and mods.

Then in your case. You really shouldn't consider the Subaru. I've seen you on the forums here for a while now. Time to join the club. And I bet you we have more fun than they do. Owning people in a Neon is a disgrace. Utter shame. Killing Corvettes, Audi's, AMG's.........you name it. It's fun.
