Some of you might remember my blog type post how I told about my whole ordeal with Beaverton Dodge down here in the Portland area.
As you'll recall Beaverton Dodge replaced my tranny under warranty. In doing so they screwed up my boost. Well, I had to postpone the repair of said boost issue until after Christmas. Next Friday I have an appointment scheduled at FAST Specialties in Vancouver to finish troubleshooting the over boost issue.
Well, last week I decided to play around with the car to see if I could Han Solo the problem away. I opened up my cutout. The boost seemed to come back to nearly a proper level. I closed it up after running open for a couple days. It would boost "correctly" (still a little low for a stage 2 WGA) at times and other times it would overboost like it did before.
This leads me to believe FAST's opinion that it is one of the soelinoids.
*sigh*...WELL...Last nigth coming home, I had occasion coming home from work to give it a little gas. I noticed during the first "pull" in second that it did okay. Second "pull"...hmmm, the boost seems to be getting lower. Third "pull", I'm hearing a funny air-spraying type of sound like you'd hear out of a hose that had just popped loose.
No boost whatsoever. Oh, it'll go from 20 vacuum to 0 and maybe a little above. There is NO turbo spool at all. No codes, which is a good thing I guess. The stage 1 on this is popping and burbling like crazy. I would imagine this is because it is running stupidly rich right now.
So, the bottom line is that I've got to wait until next Friday to take it to FAST to not only look at the overboost issue but now troubleshoot the leak.
OIY! Here's what I feel like....
Anyone want to trade straight out for a new Toyota Yaris?
