yep its the 4th. the guys next door to me went to the res with me and we spent a lot. maybe more than i should. any way we are going to have a great time. i was thinking of inviting all the srt's that i know but i didnt know who would be intrested? what's every one doing tonight. im in kirkland at the north end so the fire work ban do's not aply to me. hahaha
I was down at the Tacoma waterfront from 9:30-4:30 competing in the dragon boat races. Then it was back home where we had a bunch of people over for BBQ, drinking and fireworks. It was quite the show with over $600 in fireworks total between everyone!
we made a massive sparkler bomb and lit it off. I will have pics up in a bit if i can figure it out. also we found out how dangerous they really are so be careful with them. Found a sparkler 1/4 inch into a piece of wood that was 5 feet away from a regular sized bomb.
We had a couple mortar's that came out of the tube and then exploded at about 5 feet in the air . . . yeah that wasn't so cool! I just remember ducking when I saw colored sparks flying at me! No one got hurt though!
wow sounds scurry. you guys are all nuts. last year i was lighting off a mortar in my cold-d-sack and it tiped over and shot at me and my friends. was not cool at all. since then i dont like them at all.
quick reflexes. You kinda get used to things hitting you on the fourth...or at least i have. We usually through mortors on the gound when they are lit or in old cars that we beat the crap out of already. Whichever is easy when no tube is available.
yeah, we had a problem with a tube shot. didnt seem like a mortar, but it tipped over pointing toward my neighbors at the end of their driveway. amazaingly the thing came out and u-turned to where nobody was.
we had 4 sparkler bomb rookies and produced a nice little bang... twice. i got some advice (from jaymzx) beforehand and if you have the metal handle types you fold and crimp them together so theyre a bit less lethal. ours had the cheap wood(ish) handles. no worries with that cheap stuff.
coy and i gained the knowledge than more than 2 sparklers are required to build such an explosive.

Our 4th was pretty good. An uncle of ours went absolutely insane on the spending and bought well over $1600 worth of fireworks. My family bought some stuff too, and we combined all that stuff into one huge ass show, pretty sweet finale too.
Did the finale consist of taking all the small fireworks like Jumping Jacks and Bees and Saturn Missle Batteries and soaking them in gasoline and setting them ablaze?
