Default Side Trim Removal

So does anyone know how exactly the side trim on the SE and SXT's are attached? I'm looking to remove mine and go to the nice smooth door look.

Its double back tape and I think one screw on the door edge. If there is no screw then its just tape. Be very careful and get your wifes hair dryer out to get all the goop off the side of the car.

That's it?? Wow...i was thinking it'd be more like some older cars where the trim is tapped through the metal

Slowly peel them off while using a hair dryer, then use some laquer thinner to remove as much adhesive as you can,.. then use rubbing compound to remove the rest.... wipe clean then wax the shit out of it.. Just did my sons sxt,.. looks alot better!!

hey i used to have a sxt and i did the same thing. like john said it is two sets of double back tape. there are no screws or anything. a hair dryer or heat gun is the best way to go and take it slow, way slow. it will be easier to cut the tape as you pull it off and then to use a solvent to get the tape goo off rather than trying to pull it all off at once. it is pretty easy but you have to be careful. mine pulled a little paint off but it was ok i just touched it up and you dont even notice it because of the angles the door creates.

it is definently a good mod and changes the look of the car alot. good luck
