Default . I broke it.

I turned the boost up today, went out to test it out. First gear was great, second good. Shifted into third and it was like i missed it.. pulled it back out and tried again.. nothing. Slowed down and tried to put it into second, nothing. It just revs like its in neutral. No gears catch at all.
It feels like the gears are all scrambled around, i cant find them easily. I'm hoping to god its just the linkage, and that i just can't get it in. When i put it into "reverse" the reverse lights dont turn on.
Please dear god just be the linkage.

If you are lucky and it's the shift selector you can get to that on the top side of the tranny under where the linkage goes in, if I remember it is like a 5-6 bolt cover, it is right inside there. If you are unlucky it is your input shaft, that is a whole rebuilt tranny, which it was in my case, and possibly a clutch too depending on how it broke......

Third gear was always kinda troublesome. Id put it in and it would pop back out as i let out the clutch, i'd have to put it back in again and then it'd be good. Never fell out. Think i should take it to a shop before i buy the selector?

BTW do you have a link to that selector for me?

Your 3rd gear synchro was going out previously.

Thats what I would say too. Usuually it grinds a little putting it into 3rd before it actually goes out. Should also see some shavings when you change tranny Fluid.

I'm sure other vendors sell the selector but I heard Turbo neon store is one of the cheaper.

when you shifted did you it feel like it "went through"?

typically when you break a shift selector you are stuck in a gear.

if you broke the selector, pray the broken piece didnt go into your transmission. if it did, youre fucked.

if its not the selector pray its the linkage. doubtful, but you never know.

if its not your linkage, get ready to drop a load on a new inputshaft assembly...

Does the trans "feel" like it shifts, can you hear the gears moving in the trans with the car off and shifting the gears? If so I would have to say that you lost the input shaft. If not then it would have to be the shift selector.
