Gay, I recently sold my 11 second Evo, they are so over rated. I owned both the SRT-4 and the Evo at the same time and I would take the SRT-4 over one any day of the week. The Evo is NOT a good car, trust me.
To each his own I guess, expect to blow transmissions, clutches, and rear diffs apart.......not to mention what insurance for someone your age will be.
well..... Probably the last thing you guy care about is gas mileage. But friend of mine own one of them and he says normal driving (Under 3000RPM) is 16 miles/galon. WHen i get that on my srt with rough driving.
Gas eater..........
I'm student and thats something i should care about. BUt i would take SRT over EVO
I just want to say that I dont mean anything bad or mean towards Evos, just staing facts and first hand knowledge. I dont want anymore bad relations between evolutionm.net and the srtforums. People on that side know and remember me and I have good memories also. Its just that you will have to expect unexpected problems with a used Evo. Mine had a fair amount of downtime for problems and it was frustrating from day one with 10 miles on it. My SRT-4 has NEVER done that to me once in the year and a half I owned it. I truely believe that the SRT-4 is a better built car. My Buddies Evo 9 just the other day had his starter take a crap. 12k miles on it, wtf? Another buddy has an MR 9 the smoothest tranny aledged for the Evo, and he has a exedy twin plate clutch and he still gets gear grind form 3rd to 4th no matter what on a car with 20k miles on it. I went through 3 clutches, a shep tranny, and STILL was never satisfied.
The attitude that Evo owners had towards SRT4 owners was truely sad and it sucked for someone like me who owned both to hear it. Now since I dont have my Evo I share that same animosity toward Evo owners.
Mark you had better get a better paying job if your going to mod that EVO. They are known for breaking all the time and the mods cost about 2x as much. I can not believe you are only making that much an hour. I have to cut my employee's wages down now.
I love them both. They each have their own pros and cons. Get the car that YOU want. You really won't be disappointed with either car. My Evo is used and my little brother beats the shit out of it. No problems yet, (fingers crossed).
friend here locally in dallas had one for like 4 weeks....he was shocked to learn that you have to buy tires in sets of 4 or it will fuck up like over 50% of the evos here in dallas are broken down .....they basically are like honda people they have good reliability cause the fanboys wont get out there and bitch that the car is always broken...when i was working at honda i saw how bad fanboy owners can get....hondas reliability is also one of the most overrated

But the difference in parts is like a 2 dollar hooker and a 50 dollar hooker. Honda parts are cheap, easy and accessable. Not so much on the Evo.
