I say take the Kingston ferry to the other side of the sound, drive though Port Angeles, head up to Hurricane Ridge. Good drive, only a few hours and pretty scenic. If you want to drive more, keep goin and get on 101 and head south. If you have all the time and gas in the world, you can keep driving down the coast and come back over via Olympia and head back north via I-5. That would be a 8-9hr drive without stopping and about 350mi.
