Well me and Rockstr met up tonight to have a little bit of fun. He is got a 2004, S2 w/o, 3" DP, and 2.5" Mopar / Borla Catback with 2.25" bottleneck removed. We have known that his charge pipes are leaking for a few weeks now. I've got 2003 w/ S1 Injectors, S0 ECU, S2 WGA running 18PSI, MAP Clamped at 4.8, and something else trivial that I am sure I am forgetting.
ANYWAYS. All races were preformed on a closed track . . . . .
The first race was on the way to tighten up his clamps and ziptie the lines. It is about 35degrees tonight so with the S2 he is running 15 - 16psi. We start from a 40mph roll, I get an ever so slight jump, by the top of 2nd his front bumper is at my rear, by the top of third I've got maybe 2 - 3 cars, and by 120 I've got a couple of busses on him. Not too surprising since I know his car is leaking boost quite badly.
So we tighten up all the hose clamps, they really were quite loose, and zip-tie the vaccum lines. First test drive after that was wierd, the surge valve was not opening and we tossed 3 codes. Odd but likely didn't get the solenoids plugged back in all the way. Check those, reset ECU, and all is well.
Next race now was again from a 40mph roll. Rockstr had a slight jump on me, so that at the top of 2nd my front bumper was at about his rear. By the top of third I was waving at him, and the top of 4th I had MAYBE a car length if that, damn close. One more race that I got the jump on, I was looking at his headlights outside of my drivers window until 115.
So I am happy, I beat a s2 car with under $100 in mods, and he is happy because his car is significantly quicker now that the leaks are fixed. He will be here shortly to post his $.02 I am sure. Good races buddy!
DUSTIN MY MAN!!! You finally damn registered eh? BAH! That Shadow of yours will get eaten alive next spring man! Perhaps I'll blow my tax return on the direct port kit I showed you then we shall see. Damn 8 Valve head 2.2L got nothing! LoL. If you ever finish the car, been sitting there for months as you have gone through three daily drivers in the mean time. HA! It will be badass when you get it done, you can hit high 11's.
Naw buddy, good to see you here, I'm ordering that WB02 today so hopefully next week I will have it and we can do some good 'ol tuning on the SRT and CSX.
