OK most of you remember my rant about the crap tune that Dan Judy Automotive (Salem, OR) laid on me, NEVER NEVER give these clowns
your business. After installing my 50 trim in January I took it in to get tuned
in Salem. I had heard lies that Judy's shop knew their ass from a hole in the ground. Obviously they don't. My set up: PTP 50 trim kit, CCA direct fit, AGP hard pipes, Tial WG, HKS SSQv, Iceman CAI, stg2 inj, Walbro 255, AGP return line, bottleneck fix, pump rewire, 3/8" line all the way to rail, Apex'i SAFC2, Dasmopar map clamp, Maxxfab 3" DP w/cat, 3.5" SEE... that's all I can remember at the moment. On April 4th I took it in to the clown shop ambient temp 62 deg. F results were 265.33 WHP 254 ftlbs. I had told them to turn up the FP but they did not know know how to remove fuel w/the SAFC (isn't that what it's for?!!) so they lowered FP to keep AFR to 10 to 1 at WOT. Jackasses!!!
Fast forward to July, a little warmer (by 32 deg F) only upgrades to set up are 60 mm TB and 750 cc inj.
Bobby at PRE went to work on the SAFC (94 deg F) and picked up almost 60 WHP w/o RAISING BOOST!! Then he got serious and raised boost from 16 PSI to 21 PSI and got 358 WHP. I asked him if that's all it had in it and he said it was at that boost level. But he said it was safe to go a little higher (stock engine w/balance shaft, just bolt-ons) so he turned it up to 23 PSI ... the little hemi liked it and responded w/ 396.8 WHP and 418 ftlbs. Total improvement of 132WHP and 164 ftlbs!! Dan Judy's shop should be leveled and a dress shop should replace it!
Almost the same numbers I put down, given the ambient temp sounds like you are rite where I was on pump.
I think my highest dyno on pump was like 430hp / 460tq but that was with AEM and like 75o not 94. PRE dosn't usually correct their numbers for temperature so a little colder would help your power. Be careful when it does cool down that you arn't overboosting. Boost much higher and you might start getting detonation. I think my final pump tune was holding around 24psi.
Anyways, you gotta hit the strip! What are you doing this Friday night?

(do you have slicks?)
Thanx Erich! And kudos to you for talking me into getting Bobby to work his magic. I'm planning on Woodburn Sunday for the Mopar Nationals, no slicks but I do have some Nitto 245/50/16 DR's to slap on. I'm still running the stock clutch so I really don't think 11's are that close (going to this one race then getting my South Bend Stg 5/ Fidanza alum. fly installed) 23 psi is plenty for me...
I need to go race the dyno soon! I just might in the next few weeks but need to decide on a few things first. DEQ nazis next fall or just move in with meni-hemi in amity
just added 650s and i'm putting in moltenice's meth injection setup shortly after the intercooler upgrade.
Oh yeah and the new brakes. Shit Fire! I need an install day.

I see a piggyback in my future.
Hey Kim! We do have a spare room but I'd have to clear w/the wife or she'd me! BTW I'm running a cat on the DP and my WG feeds into the exhaust so I'm 'sort of ' legal! If they didn't look too close I might even pass the sniffer test! Thank God that I don't have to put up w/that DEQ BS!

i've gotta question for ya. Pretty new to the tuning of turboed cars, but not knew to cars...just turbos. Anyways, from my little research the map clamp is there to hide boost from the pcm correct? isn't that what the safc2 does as well, but you can control your fuel trim with it? So why have both? If you rather have me pm ya let me know.
Yeah they do the same thing, SAFC just does it better, map clamp was on first and does not hurt anything to leave it on. Nelson did you find a ricemobile yet?
lol Nope. Haven't even started a part out yet. I need to do it soon or I'll never save some cash for school though. Trying to go with as little rice as possible... Maybe even throw a spiral flow or two on the exhaust and run an e-cutout.
