Until I decide to purchase a new firearm the 1911 is all I have to work with. Hard to conceal an AK-47 The 1911 is pretty legit though. Pretty accurate and if I run out of ammo I could club someone with it, it's pretty heavy
I might have a shoulder holster I picked up from GI joes a few years back. I'm with dthquazi on the fact its not that comfortable. I dont like the hip holster either, but what else you do???
Personally for a 1911 I would probably go with one of these.

the FN5-7 in my opinion is a bad choice for any reason other than taking it to the range and shooting paper...1 the round isnt all that its hyped up to be, 2 its expensive to shoot, 3 its like a damn toy...
on paper the gun looks like its perfect...but the round is like a rifle round and will just poke holes into someone...the number of rounds it holds and recoil is great and all but it feels like a toy...it feels like its all plastic....i wanted one...until i held it and did talked to some gun people about it...i wanted it for personal carry but since the rounds would just go straight through and not have the stopping power of a 40 or 45 i passed on it....
as for HK i havent heard of any of them breaking down or having issues...myself and a few friends of mine have shot quite a few of them and have never had an issue...if your having issues with yours then im thinking its not being cleaned or taken care of...im not saying you arent but that would be my first guess...that or you fire a million rounds through it

You are right about it feeling like a toy. However the bullet is designed to "tumble" when it hits something more than paper. Through the body it will rarely over-penetrate. It tumbles and causes much more damage...almost like a 22 round will do. Thats why the .22 is the round that ends up killing the most people in the US. Thats and people dont seem to take .22 as serious. Yes it is expensive...if you buy the ammo outright. Reloading the ammo brings the prices way down.
