paying for install help.

ok to get up to speed read my trans/clutch nightmare post in drivertrain section. Clutch is in, tranny won't line up to get bolts back in. So I'm offering $50/hr for help to get this tranny in. Location is Lake Oswego Oregon. 97035. I need someone that has done thus a few times not " I saw my buddies do it " . I will be available Wednesday 8/06 after 6pm. Car is not moveable obviously so you must come to me. Pm me if your intrested with your phone number. Payment will be in cash. I will offer beer as well if you want. I had done 2 other tranny installs but on RWD cars so I felt confident doing this.

Thanks in advance.

I might be able to help you Thursday. You have the tranny all bolted to the block correct? You just can't get the tranny mount in? You can pay me in beer no $$ necessary.

haha, i read your post again, looks like you cant get the tranny bolted to the block. Did you make sure the shift fork is in place and not getting hung up on anything? Guess I would have to see it to know what the problem is with why it won't line up.

Talking

Well checksum wasn't able to make it last night so I made another go at it tonight and got it!!! I had to take it all back out and I noticed the pilot bushing wasn't set in really good. So I pulled out the clutch and knocked the pilot bushing in place with light tapping of a hammer and got it in solid. Then re aligned the clutch. Torqued it down again.. It took about 15 minutes from then to get it aligned and 10 more to get it bolted. Thanks you all for your info and advice!!

Pilot bushing? Our cars don't have one so I hope you didn't knock the shield out of the flywheel.

Maybe he meant the pivot ball that the release lever pops onto?

Thumbs up

I got the ACT Clutch, it comes with the plastic bushing that goes into the hole where the flywheel is so I can align the clutch disk. The Tranny Spline was hitting it since it was flopping around. I took it all back off minus the new flywheel, and tapped that bushing in better so it held. Realigned the clutch torqued, then put the tranny back on 15 min later.. pop it was on. I finished it all today. So I got a new clutch, Flywheel, TOB, Fork, Shift selector, and booger bushings.

So here is my shift selector story.. So I broke a rolled pin that holds the selector arms in place. No one makes them its a stupid .99 part and I had to get it overnighted lol. so it cost me $60. But thats better than Dodge and them wanting me to pay $400 for a whole new piece.

Anyways.. Thanks for all the help. It is officially installed and 100% completed. I drove it 10 miles today, the vibration is gone and it feels great!
