Nice, I've been playing a lot of SNES lately. Have all 3 Marios on 1, it's still fun.

I don't currently own a NES, but I remember playing Super Mario Brothers and Hogan's Alley on one of those old two unit Nintendo Arcade games. It was like two different games that shared the same cabinet and it was like 1.75 times as wide as a normal cabinet.

I remember playing Super Mario Brothers on the NES and thinking to myself they made the game totaly easy because the zones didn't match the arcade version. The NES version ended up reusing a couple of the pipe/dungeon zones with slightly different timing instead of using completely different zones with different layout. I was disappointed, because up to that point I had firmly believed that NES and Nintendo Coin Op units ran the same software. I noticed the same thing with Excitabike, another one of my favorites. It was incredibly easy on NES, but got quite challenging rather quickly on the Coin Op version.

There are a ton of other games I have fond memories of for the NES, but those were the most interesting points, for now...

I dont understand all the video game nostalgia that seems to be going around these days...I mean dont get me wrong I played NES and SNES not mention Genesis games till my fingers bled when I was a kid. But these days XBOX and PS2 are the kings of consoles and im sorry but as much as I loved the NES and SNES games PS2 and XBOX just got better games...not just graphically. The complexity in play and plot has developed so much in the games of today that when I sit down and play older games...which I have done a couple times recently. I just loose interest after 15-20min. Dont even get me started on PC games...I am playing F.E.A.R now on PC...unfreaking believable how awesome the game is. Google it if you care to catch a glimpse. I will say this I wish I still had my old school systems...man I could make bank on ebay. DOH!

I view old video games like this:

I loved graham crackers as a kid. They're great, go well with milk, etc...
Every once in awhile as an adult I have a graham cracker and remember how good they are.

Does that mean I don't go to the bar and have a couple round of drinks, then finish it off by going out with friends and grabbing a good steak somewhere? Hell no.

But I sure enjoy me some occasional NES or Graham Cracker...

Three Words: Mike Tyson's Punchout

Going back to these games make me realize how hard they were. I mean we play God of War, RE4, and whatever. They are easy compared to some of these crazy NES games.
