Check your drainback tube. Those gaskets can go out if any stress is put on the tube. It happened to me and smelt like burnt oil under my hood till I replaced it. Its a bitch to do though, at least if you have a heatshield.

Let the car cool down and touch the tube and feel for oil. Otherwise its hard to see black oil on black tube

Make sure that the oil sensor is not leaking, we have seen this a few times lately.

Similar problem. I've had my neon since '06 and have never had a problem with it, ie; gaskets, oil leaks, etc.

Guy backed into my parked car in a parking lot and had to send it to the shop for about 2 weeks.

The day I got it out of the shop, brought it on the highway and halfway home started to hear a moderately loud flutter noise coming from below the turbo. The noise fluctuated louder and quieter at around 10% throttle to 30% throttle and calmed down when I was speeding up more.

I got it home and tried to diagnose the problem and noticed oil running down a greenish plug in the middle on the backside of the motor. I'm thinking this is the oil sensor but I'm not sure since my oil light isn't coming on anymore like it used to before I put it in the shop when I KNEW I had a bad sensor. Thing was though, I never had any leaks and my light was constantly on, and am a habitual oil changer at around 1.5 - 2k miles.

Any suggestions on a fix for my problem? I called the mechanic that worked on the body of my car, they said after they took the fender off and did a little tinkering, my car spotted oil every now and then but they said it wasn't in big quantaties. FML though that when I get it out, they say they didn't mess with the motor at all, and now I've got a potentially huge problem on my hands with my only car.

If anyone can enlighten me please do. I also need to know where I can get an oil sensor haha.

Getting mine towed into the shop today to see if I can get it fixed. I pray to god my valves aren't messed up and that it's an easily fixable problem.

More info would still be a plus though.

Turns out, my motor's fluttering noise is either a thrown rod or a bearing. FML, I need a rebuilt motor to fix it. Good news is, got my sensor replaced...
