Oil, slicks, and sandwiches.
So on friday I was going to thrifties to get some oil so I could go to the track and I got rear ended. Some guy in a lowered chevy truck (with a body kit and custom paint) decided not to pay attention to the LINE of cars stopped at a light. He decided that the sexy red srt-ass of my car looked like a nice place to park his truck. He smacked me, then I smacked the car in front of me. All just cosmetic damage, no real damage to my rear bumper (i didn't have my foot on the breaks so I just bounced off). His bumper support beams both broke and one of them jammed into his nice pirelli tire... which serves him rite. My front bumper hit the suv in front of me and broke the fiber-glass and scratched him pretty good but nothing serious.
so we exchange info and whatnot, I go get oil, change it, go to the track. We slap the slicks I borrowed from srt-2nv make a couple runs (my first runs on slicks) I get the launching down, we air them down to 13psi and make 3 passes at 12.7 ~ 109mph. Had to keep the cutout closed because of noise (I ran 95db with it open ) Each pass had a better 60ft starting out at 1.93 and going down to 1.84 but I was hotlapping so the engine was pretty hot by the end. Anyways, we should be able to run a 12.5 or better with the cutout open.
So yeah, what was possibly the worst day for my car turned into the best day. Launching on slicks is like nothing I had ever felt before. I can't even think of what to compare it to.
I will post some pics of the damage when I get a chance.
