Default Official 2006 Oregon Meet

Still Waiting to find out what picnic area is available and suited for us. I told them I estimate 25 people.

WHY: OK its been a while since we have had a meet in Oregon. Many of the
Oregon guys have driven up for our meets and its time one is scheduled
for Oregon.

WHEN: August 19, 2006 from about 11am - whenever.

WHERE: Hagg Lake (Address and Directions below)

WHO: Anyone who is family or friends of a srtforum.com member.

WHAT: BBQ/Picnic at Hagg Lake? All the Washington people that wanted to
drive down could meet up and drive down(about 3 hours drive from
seattle area about 200 miles). We could BBQ and Bullshit(ohh ya Hagg
lake is one of the few parks alcohol is allowed) then make a long line
and cruise around the lake about 15-20 miles all the way around
stopping for some excellent pictures. Back to BBQ spot. There is lots
to do there from swimming, boating, skiing, hiking, fishing, etc.

WA people would take off between 8am-9am. Everyone meet up at Hagg Lake between 11am-12pm. Eat about 3pm. Go on cruise then people can head home or stay around for more fun.

I looked into a few things like small electric boats run $15 an hour or $45 for the day. Row boats or paddle boats run $10 an hour or $35 for the day.

* $5 Parking fee everyone must pay to drive into the park CASH ONLY *

I like how you say alcohol is allowed in this park, yet this is a meet up of people driving cars lol. I would go but a little far for me.

Well I expect everyone that comes is an adult and can drink responsibly. I personally will probably be having one beer but thats it.

I post that alcohol is allowed at the park to warn people that there will be some drunks wondering the park from other picnics. When I was in HS we frequented the park many times through out the summer drinking, swimming, and having fun until park rangers or county police asked us to leave.

I am planning on going. I can also meet up with the WA crew on HWY 26 as you pass my house and you guys can follow me instead of trying to figure out a map. Also as an additional note: Washington County Sheriffs Office DO patrol the lake in boat and car. Speed around the lake is 45 max and there are plenty of tempting corners to make you want to go faster. Fair warning. Might want to add bring $ to pay for the parking pass. Its pretty cheap though.

Sounds good. Depending on what i have going on i might take an attempt at Mt.Hood after the meet. Highway 48 is the most amazing high speed mountain road i have ever been on. Ohh and little to no traffic.

ohh ya i can bring the drinks, soda of course. lol
