I was with my wife heading down 405 just north of 520 on Saturday night when I found myself passing maybe 30 or 40 late model VWs and Audis. A little bit later over near the Montlake Bridge I passed another group of 20 or 30 of them.
Anybody know what club this is and what kind of meets they put together? This was not the first time I have seen these guys around, but it was definitely the largest mass of them. I don't even know where you can go with that many cars.
I was pretty jealous of their abilty to get that many cars together but I guess that's what you get when you buy a long running and pervasive car rather than a short run "special edition" type car that many people never even knew existed (aka the SRT-4).
Good Q. I'd poke around the vortex and see if you see any relevant posts. There are a LOT more 18ts out there than SRT-4s hehe. The VW guys are pretty hardcore, too. I have a neighbor who has an A1 Rabbit and it's beautiful. He also has an A2 Jetta that he 'rescued' from some teenage ricer

Thanks for the point towards the VWVortex. I ultimately found this NorPac site and it turns out what I saw was a big "g2g" (get together) for "european auto enthusiasts" they were having out at Sand Point. Somewhat stereotypically, these german car guys really seem to emphasize that their event is for VW and european cars! I guess they are trying to build a riceboy super race.
all i know is that it was fun as hell cruising to Burger Master with all the srt's at the last pnw meet. i can't wait until something like that can come together again.
I was in the VW Scene for a few years. They meet all the time.
They have a few big drives like one to Leavenworth once a year which they just did recently.
There is also a big show/race's at Pacific Raceways this weekend, called WaterWagens.
Also there is a bunch of shows thruout the year and a bunch of get togethers. They are all pretty close knitted, they do a thing called "dub love" when you see a VW they throw the peace sign. VWVortex is the main site that is commonly used; a huge forum which is very active.
I bought a used Jeep Wrangler a couple of months ago and have been using it as my daily driver.
I soon learned that most Wrangler drivers will acknowledge each other with a wave. Nothing too flashy, just a slight raise of the hand. At first I thought it was a bit strange until an attractive blonde waved one day - I've been waving back ever since.

Its good to see you still around. Hope Dodge is still treating you good over in enumclaw area.

Zane:
Thanks for the note.
I left Enumclaw CJD several months ago and have been enjoying some time off. I've decided that I'm going to take the rest of the Summer off and just hang out at Mason Lake and hope that there are more record high temperatures in the future....
I do, however, still like stopping by the SRT Forums to see what's happening. It looks like you're still keeping busy with your events and the Oregon GTG.
I hope that your Oregon GTG goes well and that you have a great Summer.

Hey guys...I just came across this thread today..a bit late but oh well.
Careful...if you suggest we drop by, we usually do en masse
tell them Silver Reflexion sent you.
only if you dont want any of them to ever talk to you again. Your average SRT owner thinks hes a white guy from Alabama in the 50's and every other type of car is a black guy.
except for JR. He drives a neon.
