Alright I have my prototype housing running on bacardis car and so far so good. I built these to last and stop a tank if need be. They are made out of T304 stainless steel and the flanges are 1/2" thick . I will be getting the support stands made up in the next week, but to test how strong they were I had bacardi put one on his rig with no stand. The welds are ugly because I ran out of gas for the mig welder. The finished product will look much better. The price will be $158.50 picked up and $169.00 shipped. I know that sounds like a lot compared to the competition, but these are 1/2" T304 stainless steel flanges with mandrel bent T304 pipe. Even the stand will be T304 stainless. I built these out of T304 because it can take the heat cycling better then any other material that doesnt cost 3 times as much (like 421 stainless) for the durability and resistance to cracking. I should have 10 finished by the end of next week.
2 weeks and no problems with crap welds. I am also taking a look at sending the O2 out with a modified heat shield that bolts right in. Would you all be interested in this?
