I drove the car around until it was empty, or so I thought...my gas light was on for a good 20-30 miles and my paranoid self didn't want to be stuck somewhere without gas.
Dropped the tank to do the fuel pump, and ya, there was about 2-3 gallons still in there. So thankfully I had an extra hand there to get the tank back up when I was done...No I didnt think about draining the gas into a canister until I had it strapped in.
I'm pretty sure I fixed that fuel issue too.
So, here was the issue. I'd be cruising along, and come up to a long hill, and while driving up it, my VAC was around 0...after getting to the top of the hill, and shifting to 5th, my wideband would go rich to the 12's, and my RPM's would hang. I'd have to do a rolling re-start, and it would go back to normal.
I tried replicating the same thing the last two days after installing the walbro, and the issue is fixed

uhh you would not have been able to train the tank regardless unless you unscrewed the white canister, i found out the hard way (full tank and a broke car, so i could not drive it around to get empty) you can not cyphen the fuel, i just ended up using a jack to lower the tank and then tip it in a 5 gallon jug. PITA

Good job on doing the work yourself and.... you may need to replace the filter as well.
i replaced the filter attached to the pump, it was nastay...all black and crapped up
There is another one in the silver can that sits on top of the white ring that you took off. Its called a FPR but it has a filter in it as well. Its really easy to pop off and check if it needs to be replaced. PM me and I will give you the how to or call me and I will explain.
turn off the car
take the top off the fuse box, unplug the fuel pump relay
get back in the car, start it and let it die, this depressurizes the fuel system.
turn the key to off
get a gas can and remove the fuel line from the fuel rail.
put the fuel line in the gas can.
take the 10a fuse from your horn and use it to jump the fuel pump relay.
Turn the key to on and your fuel pump will drain your tank into the can.
reattach all relays, fuses, and lines.
FILL TANK WITH RACEFUEL AND PWN ON SOME V8
... or change your fuel pump
... or make a bonfire with the fuel
... or torture some cop duct-taped to a chair with no ear

Or you can have a local do it for you with an open flame in the shop and burn down your house (not me another local guy had this happen). Really sucked for the home owner.
