To make a long story short my wife and I want to open a track within the next 5 years in WA and was wondering what type of track you guys would like and where? Trying to get the street racers off the street.
james wtf is wrong with you why do you want an oval track, there is already spanaway and evergreen speedway and probable more for oval racing wtf fun is turning left or on a good day maybe you can run it backwards and turn right. make a drift course and a 1/4 mile thats what is hot right now. i guarantee a drift track would attract alot of business thats where the market is headed, there is a new US drift circuit starting RIGHT now so get to work:P

make a downhill mountain drifting track with a 1/4 mile drag strip at the bottom. Good luck, I wont be holding my breath even for a simple new 1/4 mile or even 1/8 mile track.
Actually they are already building an new nascar track in Yelm or they are planning to.
So,a drifting track With a 1/4 mile so far I would have expected some thing different for people with FWD cars. Hmm OK

yeh, i havent heard any news about the nascar track for quite awhile, havent looked either.
agreed on the drift fans/fwd drivers, but 'if you build it, they will come.'

I have companies begging me to put on a NW Drifting event. The tracks wont let it and huge parking lots have been hit by small unorganized events. So they wont allow it. If you get this started I'm sure I can find some companies to throw money at you.
I agree that there's a market, but with real estate and insurance costs it would challenge. You would almost have to find an existing airstrip or industrial site in a remote area.
I live out in the sticks and drive by the Bremerton Raceway at least twice a week - I'm always surprised to see how often the track is being used - even during the middle of the week.
There was a cool video from an American GI that was racing his SRT-4 on a track in Germany. It looked awesome - I'm sure that a similar offering in Washington would be very popular. I'm just not sure that you could ever charge enough to make it profitable.
Good luck with your vision- life is good when you get paid to do something you love to do!
well, the idea of night time racing to keep it off of the street must include drag racing because thats what most people are into, and essentially any car can at least try to participate in.
i havent been much into drifting so i dont have a clue how popular it is around here, but a business, as sbh stated, requires income to keep running. also, location is very tough with laws such as noise after xx:xx pm.
it would be sweet to get something like this going around here, i hope it will work out!
I think an oval track, or a circuit that is set-up for our cars would be nice. Also A very nice, and very level 1/4 mile strip, not old school, would be great!!!!
I would say a quarter mile up north would do pretty good. Burlington seems to have quite a few decent cars rolling around on Friday nights. You could get those guys, the college kids from Bellingham, and the Navy guys from around the area to show up in numbers.

I would have to say a drag strip. I have always dreamed of one in bellingham. The problem with all tracks is the permits. try to find sponsors. mabey a police dept? I love to race. eat sleep breathe race. but only ont the track, which sucks.
Burlington sucks. A lot of posers rolling through there, and then that 45 year old dude in the '03 cobra that brags about how he beats down civics and stuff. Wow like thats such a mountain to climb with a cobra! He drives like crap and was lucky to clip of a 12.99 time at mission. I'm not even .4 seconds behind
