Default New compression test

Just did one tonight after doing a 3rd gear pull and saw the afr hit 12.00 (yes i know, im paranoid)

Drove car home from work, waited 1 hour for her to cool down a bit. she was still warm, but not hot.
Unplugged injectors
took out spark plugs.

Turned over for 5 seconds

1 - 150
2 - 160
3 - 160
4 - 165

Then I did them again with 2 caps of 20w50 oil

1 - 160
2 - 190
3 - 186
4 - 182

Seeing #1 like that freaked me out... so I put the compression tester on it and ran it again, and pulled a 160. Dumped another 2 caps of oil in to check it wet and ran a 180.

I was thinkin maybe i didn't hold the throttle all the way down when i tested it wet and dry the first time....

Whats the chances that it still had oil in it and thats why it read slightly higher because of more oil? Or am I okay, and I probably did just not hold the throttle down open the first time around?

dude your numbers are fine. 12.0 isn't even that lean, my car was at liek 12.6 for so logn due to a dirty oil filter. Your numbers are perfect. Dont worry about it.

Having a difference between the dry and wet test shows your rings or cylinders are leaking a little. Could be worn rings, over heated rings, scared cylinder or couple other things, but the small amount of difference is nothing to be worried about. Now if they where 130ish dry 180ish wet then you know your looking at a hone and ring job soon.

All rings and cylinders wear over time, that is to be expected as friction does that to metal. The more power you put out the faster this will happen, the more you use that power the faster it will happen. That is why top fuel dragsters change rings, pistons and anything that needs it after 1 1/4 mile run, because they run so hard with such high loads the wear happens in seconds. Take the amount of miles your car has on it and look at the drop in compression and the type of driving/racing you do. That should give you an idea as to how long or how many miles driving like you do before you will need to replace rings and anything else that might be worn.

Hope that helps.
Randy

What??

A dirty oil filter made your car run leaner??

Either i am confused or you don't understand how your car works. Cause an oil filter will make nnnnnnnooooooooo difference in how much fuel your car has, gets, uses, or burns. If you meant air cleaner that would be understandable as some filters use oil, but having one be dirty will make you run rich not lean, as there will be less air to mix with the same fuel. Not that you can even see the difference on turbo cars, because the turbo can suck past almost any filter dirty or not.

Lol calm down Randy.

I plan to do a comp test soon, myself. My car has always dyno'd low and I'd like to get to the bottom of it.
