Default Need a stand-alone! ! ! !

I'm building a 500 + pony srt-4 with the help of R.S. Enterprise and Fastlane Motorsports and I've been looking around for a stand-alone engine management system. So far it looks like the best is Motec, EFI Technology, and AEM. But the AEM hasn't even come out yet. Are there any other systems I should look at?

Are the tec3r's plug and play? Because the EFI Tech requires us to build all the wiring harnesses. And tear out all of my wires Uugggghhhh .

AEM will be worth the wait. It will take months to properly build a set-up such as what you described anyway.

You know you could just buy a 60-1 AGP turbo kit and a few other fuels mods and make 500Whp right? No need to spend up to 3k dollars on a Motec system and have all of the headache of making your own wiring harness. If you are going to go through all that trouble you might as well buy a fiberglass one piece front end and tube the front end and fab some traction bars and shoot for 700hp.

We already had a 60-1 but more and more people have been blowing their engines up with that t3/t4. So we decided to go with a better setup from garrett turbos. Besides getting an stand-alone will make our tuning alot easier for my tech's. Motec created a system where we can tune each individual cylinder if needs be. I just want to make sure I have all the angles covered before we really get into the build. As far as how long it will take us I realize months will be needed, but the racing season is almost over anyways (for me at least, I'm leaving for Air force basic training in a couple of months). I want to get my engine management set up before I leave so I can learn as much as possible about tuning it.

So you plan on making your own wiring harness for the motec since that is what you will have to do? Do you plan on daily driving this car?? I just don't see the reason of spending a ton of money on a stand alone and shooting for only 500hp. Who is blowing their motors up with a 60-1 unit? I haven't heard of many people that have. What turbo will you be using to make this power and why are you limiting yourself to 500WHP when plenty of 60-1 users are almost reaching that point with the agp SAFCII fuel kit??

wow.. if you want to go stand alone then good.. but of course you dont need stand alone fort 500 hp.. for 500 hp there are many good stand alone systems you can use.. motecs system IS NOT a good first time stand alone sytem to use.. there graphs are weird and hard to read.. a nice stand alone system is electromotive tec3 or the F.A.S.T system.. or wait for the ems..

There is no need to build a harness with the tec3r. We have full wiring instructions and individual cylinder tuning is available (fuel and spark timing)/ Boost control/ 2 step rev limit/ anti-lag/ Wideband O2 input and self tune feature. Full datalogging and the most accurate spark timming in the industry (.5 degree at 12000 rpm)

Couldn't of said it better than that.

What setup are you going with besides the stand alone...ie turbo, bolt ons...etc.
