Don't know if everyone remembers me, haven't posted in awhile! My ticket was not thrown out! I was the one that tried getting everyone on track with a group buy lawyer. Drove the White 350Z!
Anyway, I have 30 days to pay $113 and nothing goes on my record. The judge then said if he sees any gathering of tunning cars in his Area again he will have all of us thrown in Jail for wreck less driving.
Gary Wallis(lawyer) was also almost thrown in jail for going off on the prick judge! He fought tooth and nail over this with no luck! Great Guy!
REALLY REALLY UPSET with the justice system right now! Its not about the money, its about principle, and being fair across the board!
That judge can fuck off. Unless the individual drivers have been trespassed from the entire city, he can't do shit unless a crime is committed. In fact, since he said in open court that he would be prejudiced toward any defendant with a 'tuner car', I'm sure any lawyer worth his salt would be able to get any future case re-assigned or tossed out.
Kudos to your attorney for going to bat and calling out the judge on his asshattery. We're not worth a contempt of court charge, but I'm glad he made a stand.
You must have had a diff judge then us. Mine got thrown out in a heat beat. The judge was really cool about it also...Anyway you can apeal it...Maybe find out if that was a diff judge then us?

bingo...he cant throw you all in jail just for being in the area...charges will not stick and he will get in serious trouble...

The judge really didn't say that did he? If so and you want to make some waves of your own, here is what you do. It's a small town and getting revenue from people coming there to visit is a good thing. A group of "tunning cars" does just that. So what you do is get a trascript of the case hearing (should only cost you $5 or so). Then you go to every local business in the area and hand out that document. Then you call the paper with what was said and see if they will run an article on it.
This will get the towns attention as well as state attention. Judge will be issued a warning if it gets high enough up the chain of command. Last I would call the mayors office and let them know what your plans are unless something is done about this. You can make this judges life horrible and make him regret every stating something so stupid.
It was good to see the attorney stick up for you. If the judge would have pushed the contempt charge it would have been thrown out because the judge was profiling you as a "tunner car". That just like stating all crimes are commited by XXXX men. Judge must have been having a bad day or he was just a tool.

You will have to get them from the court house. Sometimes you can get them online but it all deppends on the tech of the court house. I would have your attorney get them for you since he is down there some what regular.
You're lucky. Usually if the officer shows up, the judge doesn't look too kindly on you pulling one of their own off the street for your shitty little speeding ticket.
