Okay so most of you guys know about the crack/hole in my head (the car not mine) my brother and i were putting on a powdercoated VC a long time ago and were just tightening up the last bolt when SNAP. We broke something, well take the VC back off and the bolt that goes into spark plug slip 3 leaf snapped the shit clean off. (see pics) Well so fuck no what. We came up with an idea to put a 1" in diameter thick (same as slip tube) pipe down to the bottom of the tube, and up to almost the top of the VC. Well. That worked great for about 2 weeks and then i started to see little bits of oil. We'll i used a shop vac, some renolds wrap and a straw to get all the oil out, and two weeks later back again. After reading the thread on the blue site about the spark plug goin boom i'm scared and have thus come up with an idea. I had silicone on there yes and all around the pipe and at the bottom but it's just not working. Here's the new idea.
I want to weld all the way around the bottom of the pipe, thus not letting any oil down in there and that would hopefully stop the problem. (i dont see how it couldnt)
Pictures are what it looked like, then a drawing of what the pipe looks like, then and the red is where i want to weld. And give me a break i had to use paint. Work comps dont have pshop. The top of the pipe slips into the VC so no oil would be able to get in from there.
Remember the pipe goes all the way to the bottom of the tube and almost to the top of the VC.

Welding aluminum takes a TIG and talent
The heat from welding the head may warp it
You'll probably need to pull the head to weld it, anyway
Oh and your avi looks like a cawk. Squint and take a look.
i have the tig.. not the talent. Friends dads gonna do it.
Warping that tube wouldnt matter as long as the VC will fit over that tube..
And i plan on just pulling it in, poppin off the VC, laying some shit down over the cams and the rest of the valueables in there and sealin it rightup.

I understand not wanting to pull the head but your playing with a loaded gun. all it takes is a little debris before your doing a complete engine.
Your taking a chance of everything going almost perfect. but if it works, that would be awesome. but if it blows, youll say crap, i should have just pullled the damn head. good luck
Mark here is what I would recommend. Get the aluminum clean (and by this I mean very very clean). Find some liquid welder or some aluminum expoxy. Apply expoxy to both sides of the broken parts, c-clamp them over night or 24 hours. This should hold the parts together as if they were welded. I will see if I can get some liquid weld from my father in law from boeing. This shit works like the crazyness and it should be perfect for your application. You will be with out your care for 24 hours but it should work and keep you from having to get a new head for the car.
