Default My Baby's Been Bitch-Slapped by a Hyundai

Sadness has filled my heart , some crusty ol' Hyundai entered traffic and into the rear left side of my SRT-4! Had my signal on for 100ft+ and slowed down to turn and then WACKKKK!

Alighnment = fuggggt
Paint = tah'ell
Door = rallied
Idle = totally fricken sckrewwed up (but unrelated to the accident)

I'm not posting for sympathy; I need some extra advice/insight on what may/going to happen to my car. The lady that hit me, after an investigation, doesn't have auto insurance...and my deductable is $1000.00. Does that mean I will have to fork out the $1000.00 even if it is her fault...and kiss stage 2 dreams goodbye?

I've never been in an accident and thought that some of you guys might have some insight into how quickly I can get my car happy again and/or if it is I or the INS company that can/will sue her? for damages?

It drives......sorta................

Yup. You're gonna have to fork out $1,000 to get your car back from the shop. Typically the shop will present a bill for...oh for example..$5,600 and the insurance company will cut a check for $4,600.
Check with your insurance agency about how they will handle it. Typically they will sue the other person for damages + legal fees. Sometimes they'll get you your deductable back.
Most lenders don't allow deductables that high in my experience. They typically have a max of $500 because they don't want to lose their collateral.

Talk to your insurance company. Most agents who handle claims are pretty straightforward with the claims process and will answer your questions for you.

Couldn't have even said half of what James just said. But sorry to hear about the damage to your baby.

How could her insurance pay for his deductable? She has none, and IF she did, he wouldn't be having to pay the deductable.

Some bodyshops will be willing to deal with you on the deductible to get the work...since they're going to be making a profit on the job, they might split the deductible with you so you'll choose them over someone else...

Well When I got nailed by a drunk driver in a stolen van, my insurance company were a bunch of real fucking idiots. I have replacement cost and they replaced my rear driver side strut, stabilizer bar and thats it. They should have also replaced my rims. I fought with those bastards for and good week, and still they only sent one rim away to get refinished. IMO insurance companys well mine anyway will try anything to save money. And about the deductible, I didn'y have to pay mine because it was a drunk driver, so after you get your car back look at everything make sure everything is perfect.

Mine has to go back in on monday so they can fix all the stuff, they thought i wouldn't notice.

This happened to my wife and our Insurance company wavied the deductable.
Especially when the other party is at fault.

i believe if you have a loan out on a new car its a requirement from the lender to have full coverage on the vehicle so if anything happends they dont have to worry about the owned just not paying for the car anymore. i also beleive full coverage includes un insured motorists. mine does anyways.

I have full coverage, GAP, mega-warranty, etc.....thanks for the 'how-to' and the 'whats-up'...but things have turned for the worse. The damage isn't just cosmetic. I have a messed up alignment and found my rear left rims banged up, so I'm thinking the business behind it could being going to hell.

I've got an appointment with a shop my INS compnay hooked me up with to take photos and give an estimate. I'm going to be very detailed to make sure they find everything that's messed up.

One other big Q. About the idle problem (it was happening before this mess) is anyone familiar with goofy idling with this car? It will hold at 2000 in neutral after disengaging from gear and them fluctuate and if I am lucky settle down but it has stayed up around 2000 and low at like 700 and coughing.

Thanks a ton.

Take a look at your policy. Mine says that my insurance will cover anything that the other parties insurance would have covered. If you have full coverage I bet you have uninsured motorist coverage. When you get a quote for the repairs look over the work. You may be able to swap a stock type part for a performace part with only having to pay the differance. good luck

Yeah, I just checked up with my insurance co. and I do have uninsured motorist coverage....so it's loookin like no deductible for me (as long as they can prove/want to believe it wasn't at all my fault, and it wasn't.)

If I don't have to pay my deductible, that means.....HELLO STAGE DOS CON/NO TOYZ Y EXHAUSTO MAGNIFICO DE MOPAR
