Default Man sends message to left-lane slow pokes

I am getting this for the driving school on 8/30/07

This is great, I hate people who slow everyone else down, HA. From KGW.com

"Ever been frustrated by people who drive too slow in the passing lane?

One Camas man sure is and he's doing something about it.

leftlanedrivers.org

A Camas man wants to send a message to slow drivers squatting in the passing lane.

J.A. Tosti came up with the idea one day as he drove along the highway stuck behind a slow driver in the left lane.

He thought of a way to encourage drivers to move to the right, without resorting to tailgating or honking.

It’s a thin strip of vinyl that, from inside his car, you can barely make it out.

But for those on the outside, the message is clear.

The sticker, placed at the top of his windshield, reads "move over" - and has an arrow pointing to the right lane.

The words are intentionally spelled backwards so when a driver lools in their rear view mirror it reads properly, explained Tosti.

Tosti says it works like a charm. Almost every time he pulls up behind someone driving too slow in the left lane, the driver moves to the right.

Drivers we spoke with have mixed emotions about the "move over" message.

"I think it's a good idea. I think people who drive slow in the left lane are rude," commented one driver.

Another said, "I think it's obnoxious."

COMMENT: What do you think of the MOVE OVER sign?

Still, Tosti says feedback has been good.

"I've never been flipped off by anybody," he admitted.

Tosti says business is booming. He’s had inquiries from all over the world from people wanting to order his "Move Over" decals. He's been selling the decals on-line for about two months now, but says this "Move Over" movement is gaining speed.

"I'll know this movement has succeeded when someone pulls up behind me with one of these decals on, then I'll know we're there," said Tosti.

The decals are available on-line at www.leftlanedrivers.org for 29 dollars each. "

I dont have this issue in the Camaro. They get out of the way. Not sure if its because of the hi-rate of speed or the head lights being on or if its respect for a nice fast car. But there are those, in Subarus, that dont move. I pass them on the right and the jet-wash usually tosses them off the road and the middle finger lets them know

This sticker should be a requirement in Washington.

Oregon is bad, but nothing compared to I-5 after
Vancouver.

This is a great idea and a subject that I am very passionate about. Good shiz! I have also found that if you aim your HIDs up slightly it works just as well!

you think these morons who are either inconsiderate or just do not pay any attention whatsoever are really going to see the sticker? not likely. although thats about the right spot to put it once if got my front bumper under their rear bumper.

btw, im passionate about this too. ask anyone whose followed me somewhere when i had no passengers in the car.

the state wants to make easy money busting people for breaking the rules? how about a billion citations a week for not keeping right except to pass.. that should raise more than a speeder here and there would.

Some teenage punk is going to see that "move over ------>" decal and let you have it at a parking lot somewhere when you're not around. Don't do it, don't give people a reason to f*** with your car.

It's a good idea, but passing on the right works equally as well when no cops are around.

I abstain from putting any sort of verbiage on my car that could piss someone off either when it is stationary in a parking lot or ahead of a police car.

I saw some 1972 beat-to-shit bronco the other day with some old bastard driving it. It had 'Move Over' scrawled in reverse on the bug shield. I thought it was obnoxious..mostly because of the vehicle it was attached to and the curmudgeon behind the wheel, not necessarily what his bug shield read.
