He is not answering the phones for two weeks. He needs to be able to catch up on the orders he already has. He doesnt want people waiting months for parts after they order them. No new orders for a few weeks.
I think whats her name as you put it is packaging and shipping.
Some may look at it as a plus others a minus I'm stuck in the middle I'm glad he's not taking my money and giving me excuses like many other vendors but at the same time I either have to wait or buy from someone else.

I really hate my job now but it pays the bills. If I didn't hate Washington cops, Washington weather, and Washington sales tax I would be up there in a heartbeat. I used to do a fair amount of web design as well as phone sales. Now the web stuff is just a hobby but I'm sure I could get back into it. I don't have that much experience under a car (other than mine) and I have never welded but I learn quickly.

I do answer the phones, and all other office duties but can't really help with any technical questions as I only know how to change the oil in my car. I was on vacation from the 1st through the 8th of April and I gave everyone a heads up that I wouldn't be there. John is just looking for someone to take the technical calls and help in the garage.

Ahh the double edged sword. Yes either you wait or we loose a sale. I choose loose a sale because most of the other vendors you will have to wait for. I am damn near all caught up and ready to start calling people back and getting online more. I have port work everywhere that needs to be coated and shipped out as well as 3 or 4 motors down getting the bore and deck work done. Oh and the exhaust tube order showed up today, yea. I am so screwed for room now.
That's cool, but he should still answer the phones for those that need support or updates on the items they already have ordered.....
And we do most the time. I also have a strong belief that if you don't now what your doing, have someone help you that does or pay someone. I can only do so much over the phone and you can not believe the number of questions I am getting about other vendors products and how to tune this or that. Its like we are the only ones picking up the phone for the SRT4 community.
If and when we add another tech person that is going to be a $35k to $40k a year position. This person will handle the tech calls and 90% of the online sales. This is someone that needs to have the knowledge of the cars and what goes into making the fast, more or less "know" how things work, no guess.
