Yea so my lawyer got me out of a speeding ticket if I take this online traffic course. It has to take 4 hours to complete by law. The way they make that work is that they give you a page that takes all of 2 mins to read, but give you 10 mins to read it...and you can't click NEXT until that 10 mins is up lol.
In the meantime, I'm gettin some forums and TV in.
It does stop every 5 mins or so and ask a 'personal' question that you answered before you begin the course. This is to prove that the person who signed up is taking the course..but then again, if I was a bastard with no personal responsibility, I could just print the list and hand it to the other person lol.
Thus far, I can say that if more people took this course, there would likely be less accidents. So far it seems to focus on your driving 'attitude' and how that affects your driving lol.
There's a lot of trap questions like..
Quote:
1) Compared with other drivers, how would you rate your driving skills?
Please rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being an excellent driver and 1 being a very poor driver. Please click on the number that best fits.
and then the next paragraph reads:
Quote:
If you are like most Americans, you have rated yourself as above average.
Most of us consider ourselves to be good drivers. We must then ask the question why there are so many collisions and violations of the traffic laws.
lol!
I'll post more as I go through it. I have about 3.5 hrs to kill.
. . . . the Kid . . . . . . . . . . . the Car . . . . . . . . . . . the Bike . . . . . . . . . . the Toy . . . . . .
And my real name is George Carlin.
Yea I know lol. Open book, too. It will ask you the number in some statistic (like number of people killed on the road each year (40K, btw)) and you can scroll up and look.
I do wish they made it a little tougher, however. The more morons with suspended licenses the less morons on the road (theoretically). They could nip this in the bud to begin with and make the initial driver's test quite a bit tougher.
Fact is, most people who take the written course 10 years or so after getting their license fail.
Hey I think I'll tell my insurance company that I took this 'just for fun' because a friend had to and see if they'll give me a discount hehe. You get a certificate and everything.

Mine wouldnt accept it, took one for reckless driving, which got knocked down in the end anyway. But hey if the ticket doesnt end up on your record at all maybe you can get away with it :P
I didnt think they allowed online for the 4 hour class, I had to go down to North Seattle U, that school is like a prison.

Yea this ticket is out of Bothell. They do strange things there. My first ticket there was a deferral. They empowered the receptionist to file deferrals. Just give her $101 and you're out the door if you fit the criteria.
Lol @ North Seattle. Just because it's covered in ivy doesn't make it an Ivy-League school

Man I dont know, I almost would prefer to go to the real class. Its like AA but with cars. I remember one guy did a burn out in his like 69 Impala in downtown Everett and got DUI, and possesion. There were more entertaing stories than that but damn, made me feel like my offence was childs play.
I was written for reckless for doing 15 over and using a right hand turn lane to pass somone who was doing far below the speed limit (on 99 it is 50mph, he was doing no more than 40mph). I had plenty of room to pass so I did. The cop wasnt that big of an ass, I thought reckless was a little bit over the top, and he didnt really need to pull me out of my car and place me under arrest, but he did anyway. Your lucky, the officer that pulled you over must have been a nice guy. He also did not radar me, but said by the sound of it I was doing 15mph-20mph over. Who the hell judges by sound :P. Im assuming he heard my wastegate open and thought I was breaking the sound barrier.
Oh, passed 100% BTW. The actual final test wasn't open-book..but I just copied and pasted the question into Google for the ones I didn't know. Online testing FTW

So, so sad...but hey, google is everyones' friend if you know how to use it. The real sadness is those that take that test and don't think to use google like that and they end up failing.
I grasp the content just fine, it's just when they throw shitloads of statistics at you and then expect you to regurgitate them three hours later that gets me.
I see it this way. Any statistics that are in a online reprimand driving course are going to be there to 'scare' you or 'enlighten' you. Those same statistics will be thrown around by the NHTSA and other agencies to 'scare' and 'enlighten' the public. They would be readily available in Google. Just my bass-ackwards way of taking notes
